Hey everybody! Tell me which cat Pokemon do you think is the coolest. I really love Meowth/Persian but now I'm really digging Glameow/Bunyatto in Diamond and Pearl. Too bad though 'cuz I'm planning on getting Pokemon Diamond. Womp womp. Oh yeah I almost forgot... it's up for debate but I'm pretty sure Zangoose is a mongoose with catlike traits. It's your call though.:party:

Sorry guys for not adding Mew and Mewtwo but there are a lot of Pokemon with cat-like resemblances so it got a little confusing LOL. I mean, I was actually considering posting Snorlax and Muchlax 'cuz I remember a rumor about it being a sort of "lazy fat cat". Then there are the Eevees who are very much like cats but with a little fox/canine appearance. I decided on sticking to the most obvious choices for now.

I like Bunyatto the most, because of a skinny cat bulking up like a sumo wrestler, and how it can use its tail to make it's chest appear larger to imtimidate (to eliminate!)
 
I believe Bunyatt is my favorite, mostly because he reminds me of Garfield the Cat and the call it has is kinda funny.
 
Persian is too skinny while Bunyatto is fat like a cow, thus Delcatty is the most balanced of the three.

In before Mewtwo and Mew cat suggestion.

I'd go with Glameow. Not my favorite, but the most interesting by far. It also gives off the evil essence that my own cat does.
 
lol. zangoose is a mongoose. Its why it fights seviper. Also, mew is suppose to be a cat... but out of these, meowth
 
I think Persian and Meowth get my vote, but I like Glameow as well. I'm not too fond of Glameow's evolution though...it's rather...large...it looks like if I tried to pick it up to cuddle, it may crush me with it's fat.
 
I'll have to say Meowth. Just because it's my favorite, really, but it's an excellent example of a mascot-ish kitty without looking too ripped off like Skitty (which made me think of Hello Kitty the first time I saw it) or being too realistic like Persian (beautiful, but lacks the necessary fantasy elements beyond its forehead charm). Meowth is cartoony and has a personality completely its own.

Glameow is a close second.
 
Hey, don't knock Bunyatto for being large and in charge! Chubby kitties are cute; I have two cats at home and they're both very lean and healthty (my boy, Brandon is a good 15 pounds, but he's all muscle) and I must admit sometimes I envy my friends who have such cute fat cats! (Not that mine aren't adorable as can be!)

Persian > Glameow = Meowth > Skitty > Delcatty = Bunyatto

Persian is just so, evil. Like all the cats I meet (Cats hate me). I also think it suits Giovanni well.

Glameow looks sly, and has a cool tail, but it has a sucky evo and PINK EYES

Meowth is meowth. I started disliking it today after hearing its new dub voice. Its so grating. How can that ever be sympathetic towards Pikachu like it was in some episodes.

Im indifferent to Skitty and Delcatty, though my opinion increased after seeing Skitty in the anime.

I dont like Bunyattos appearence, but I am disgusted at the new name, especialyl as fat doesnt equal ugly

Persian then, it's fun to draw and probably the most catlike of the above. Also you can make it look evil OR cute without even going off model! Skitty is actually very hard to draw!

I'm not sure Mew really is a cat, was it ever hinted by an official source? Well, if so, it's like a cat foetus.

Zangoose is definitely a mongoose. Apart from looking more like one than a cat, it's so well know as to be stereotyped that some species of mongooses battle and eat snakes. Mongooses are definitely not cats, although they and cats are closer related than they are to dogs. Since mongooses are not ferrets [and ferrets *are* closer related to dogs] maybe the Japanese term for mongooses is catlike ferret or something, which is why it's the Cat Ferret Pokemon?

I also think Raikou is a cat [though the other 2 of the trio are doglike]
-Sabre teeth. No dog ever had sabre teeth, but 2 separate lineages of prehistoric cats did [and some hyenas, which are not dogs, and some marsupials]
-Tiger stripes. Dogs don't have stereotyped tiger stripes
-Long tail with tuftish end aka lion/feline. Few dogs have this. Stereotyped feline characteristic
-Small tigerish ears. Only a few dogs have small rounded ears, most big cats do.
-White ruff around face like a tiger
-More catlike body shape
-Stereotyped tigerish colouring, black on yellow [no tiger is really yellow, but it's stereotyping
-Short, round cattish head rather than long Suicune snout, without bulldogish or Pug features like Entei

So Raikou is a literal take on 'sabre toothed tiger'. Of course the Sabretooth Cats weren't really tigers, but it's a design inspired by that stereotyped concept.
 
Well, I'd pick Espeon & Entei, niether of which are with the choices. But stick with them I must.
