This is not a debate thread, save that for the "Dawn's lovelife debate thread:"

What this thread is for is to gather poll data about what's the most popular Dawn ship at the moment. Simply vote and make a post or whatever about which ship you like the most, and you can vote for multiple choices/ships if you want. I've tried to include the most notable.
 
Dawn/Gary is called Cavaliershipping. ^^

Well, to me, it looks like Ikari and Appeal are the two most popular...Those are the ones I've mostly been hearing about, anyway. Penguinshipping doesn't seem all that popular yet. Overall I'd say the most popular Dawn ship from what I've seen is Ikarishipping (which is odd as it's also arguably the least canon. o_O), but I could be wrong. ^^;
 
IkariShipping.

Too many Japanese oekaki art sites I've been lurking with those two practically smexing each other up. Second appears to be PearlShipping and third is AppealShipping.
 
I've seen more Ikarishipping art/fics/whatever in both Japanese and English than I can shake a really big stick at, so I think that might be the "new big thing." S'okay with me, cause it's the only ship on the poll I like.

I also like Hikari with Kouhei, Naoshi, Saturn, and Akagi, for the record.
 
IkariShipping because I've seen so much fanart and read so much fanfiction that I've become a big fan.

I also don't support any of the other ships on the poll.
 
I really don't know why Dawn/Paul is so popular when they have barely any interaction together in the show whatsoever. Paul apparently barely notices her and Dawn rarely talks to him, why is this ship liked?

If its because of the cliche, "bad boy and innocent girl" cliche, then meh, I don't want to see that again.
 
The only Dawn 'ship fic I've been able to find is Ikarishipping, with *one* Appeal and one Penguin.

There are *tons* of Ikarishipping fics - almost always paired with Poke/Contestshipping...

I've found several Pearlshipping fics, and a good one paired with Pikachu/Buneary (I refuse to call it Lagmorphshipping).

I totally agree with you, Scott.
I also cant stand that ship and wish ComaShipping were more popular.

I think it's a tie between IkariShipping and HikariNozomi.
 
Whoa, I expected Ikarishipping and Pearlshipping to tie for first, but I guess I was wrong. But I think this poll should be asked on other forums (*cough*serebii*cough*) to reach out to more of the Pokemon community and get more numbers. Bias should also be accounted for since people would pick a shipping that doesn't interfere with theirs.
 
It is pretty interesting to see Appealshipping is popular, I have seen a lot of nice Japanese fanart about it on Contestshipping sites even.

I think Pearlshipping would be more popular if people didn't have the feeling that Dawn is simply going to leave down the road and end up like the previous two girls. Since people already experienced it with Misty and May leaving, they don't want to get too attached to Dawn in case she leaves too. And Ash is likely to simply move on to the next region with another new girl. In other words, people know better this time around.

Part of me honestly thinks Dawn is going to follow Zoey when D/P comes to an end. Zoey is almost constantly training and teaching her techniques each time she appears, it seems like the writers are setting them up to be close rivals together, and I can see them repeating with those two what they did with May/Drew/Harley.

I guess we'll see. We're 1 year into D/P, we have another 3 years at least to go. Let's see what happens in that time.

Heh, I voted Ikarishipping - I don't really like it too much, I like Hikari more with Nozomi, but I figured that Ikarishipping was more popular - and ha, I was right.
 
Ikari, followed by Pearl, followed by Appeal, then Penquin, then Cavailer (GaryxDawn) then all the rest.
 
The Ikarishipping popularity makes me remember Mimato, from Digimon. Yamato and Mimi barely interacted in the whole show and yet their shipping was one of the most popular.

It seems people have a thing for the cool/sullen/badass guy x happy go lucky/ pretty girl kind of pairing, even though the hints are inexistant.

BTW, I voted for Pearl and Cavaleirshipping, my favorite Dawn ships.
 
Yah I never understood the Mimi/Matt ship myself just like I never understood Paul/Dawn ship. They are a like in so many ways...I mean all characters hardly ever interact. Next to the Paul/Dawn ship I'd say Pearlshipping is the next popular one, I like the one but its true what Scott said. Its happened to me with each main ship I shiped, wouldn't it be funny if Pearlshipping turned cannon after every doughted Dawn would stay? HA I'd laugh so hard if that happend LOL. But yah dought Dawns staying, Ash/Brock/Team Rocket will move onto the next region while Dawn does her contest thing. But that's for a whole nother topic LOL.

Man, Dawn/Paul has to be one of the most popular ships with the LEAST amount of evidence whatsoever. Dawn/Zoey and Dawn/Kenny are the most reasonable and even Pearlshipping at least has the strong friendship and bonds between Ash/Dawn going on, Ikarishipping has virtually nothing, not even mutual understanding.

These two characters don't even interact at all. I've never seen a ship with almost zero interaction get such a high amount of support in the fandom.

It almost seems to me that people want them to be the next May/Drew but unlike them Dawn and Paul's interactions are nearly non-existant.
