Which generation had the best starters in your opinion? (including their evos)(and the Isshu starters)I personally prefer the Hoenn starters and their evolutions. My sceptile is da bomb!

Hm.. I guess my favorite Starters would have to be from the First Gen, because they had a Simple Design, and were unique from other Pokémon, until Turtwig which is like Squirlte (Squirlte = Turtle, Turtwig = Turtle) came along.

The Hoenn and Sinnoh starters. I like their designs, and in Sinnoh, I can find a way to beat my rival's starter Pokemon.

Hoenn, because I like all the starters there, and they all are powerful. I have a dislike of Infernape or I would pick gen 4.

Gen II would have been my pick if it werent for Chikorita and it's evolutions, WEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAK! Feraligatr is badass though...

Therefore I will say Gen I or Gen III, Sceptile is such a gun ;)

I'd say Gen V and IV had the best starters, although the B/W starters are by far the best in my opinion. Never before have I actually WANTED to use all 3 before, but now I want to own Pokabu, Mijumaru and Tsutarja.

Especially Vampijumaru though :D

Hoenn. During Gen III, all of the Hoenn Starters were OU. No other Gen has managed this till today. They are all cool looking. Also, they are the only starters to have Signature moves. While more Pokemon learn those moves now, they are still considered their signature moves.

Hmm...

I guess I loved Hoenn's starters the most. I used all three starters in my Hoenn games and had a blast with each one of them.

I would say Sinnoh, but I can't say I like Chimchar.

But Isshu's starters are shaping out to be great ,too, it seems.

hoenn had the best type combos when they were fully evolved, but fraligator is my favorite of all the startes.

totodile, chikorita and cyndaquil are all great and evolve into cool pokemon so ill say Generation 2

I liked the Hoenn's starters first, followed by the Sinnoh.

Hoenn's starters are some of the special ones because they are probably the first batch to cater for the competitive gameplay that Game Freak had just rehashed, and therefore are great Pokemon at that time. Blaziken has the power to hit physically and specially quite hard, Swampert is quite a tank with only one (strong) weakness and nice attacking stats, and Sceptile is just fast. Not only that, they have signature moves that no other Pokemon could naturally learn at their time, making them special (it wasn't until the 4th Generation that those moves have niches).

The Sinnoh are also made to succeed competitively, as each have their own niches as well. They also have the best design of them too, with Hoenn's slightly behind. However they are not my top pick because Infernape is too good that Blaziken is not good anymore, and the fact that all of them get common moves that would otherwise be unobtainable by movepool standards (I am talking about Grass Knot and Stealth Rock), so in a way, they get signature moves, but they share them instead.

I didn't particularly like Johto's starters compared to the other two that I mentioned not because of their appearance, but the fact that their stats are not very different from Kanto's (Typhlosion's is the same as Charizard's, Meganium's is more defensively distributed from Venusaur and Feraligatr is physically distributed from Blastoise). Kanto's ones are alright, because I believe their cool factor is one of the reasons the games sell (they are box mascots).

I would have to go with the flow and say Hoenn and Sinnoh. Every starter of the two reigons was impressive

HEY!! Megan kicks your ass! I'd say Johto for me, Hoenn is a close second.

I'd say Hoenn, followed closely by Johto. Hoenn has two of my favorite starters; Mudkip and Treecko, while Johto has Chikorita and Totodile.

Fourth Generation, with third coming close.

Fifth will probably even better(final evo and stats-movepools-types wise).

Gen IV absoloutely had the best starters. It was the first generation to make me go "OMG! I want all of them!". Gen 1 the only one that appealed to me was Bulbasaur, and I didn't like any of Gen II's (or Gen V's, for similar reasons), Gen III, none appealed to me except Mudkip (barely) because of it's typing when evolved.

Gen IV, however, as soon as I saw the preview trailer I was like "Torterra is so cool! Grass/Ground is an awesome combo! Ooh Water/Steel? I want an Empoleon!" I wound up selecting Chimchar because it was a monkey :) I like cute monkeys, even though Fire types are not my favourite (I almost never use Fire, preffering to use fliers or ice to counter grass)

I like Kanto best, then Johto, then (probably/maybe) Isshu, then Hoenn, and finally Sinnoh

i like how my least favorite ones seem to be most people's favorites :/
