I'm kinda tied with the XL and original 3DS since I like the larger screens but I also like the smaller size of the 3DS. I'm not impressed at all with the 2DS since I feel it's a step backward with only one speaker and it doesn't fold.

Pretty much my opinion here. I'd have an XL if it weren't so big for my hands, because I do prefer its overall simplish design in comparison to the original, which looks like three normal DSes pancaked on top of each other. It is glossy and pretty though. Further, the XL gets all the special edition coolness these days. (Like Yveltal and Xerneas awesomeness. @_@) But I do like the cool stretchable stylus of the original and how there's a 3D light that actually tells you when it's turned on.

2DS is just a waste of time and money to me. I have no idea why anyone would really want one, considering how much more weight it'd take up in a purse and how it'd be impossible to fit in a pocket due to not folding. If it folded, I'd actually consider one. (I don't really care about 3D all that much.) Otherwise? Yeah, no.

I guess I won't vote since I haven't tried a 2DS yet--I don't want to judge it until I have time to use it--but for now I'd have to say a 3DS XL is the best because it fits my hands better than the 3DS. But based on reviews & photos of the 2DS, it seems the 2DS might fit my hands the best. I think my hands are even too big for the 3DS XL in my opinion (but only slightly), and so holding mine can still be uncomfortable at times. I tried holding my 3DS XL as a 2DS for a little bit just to test it out (and because I was mostly using the touch screen, anyway), and I noticed my hands felt so much more comfortable after doing that. At first I was critical of the design for the 2DS, but I think Nintendo really was onto something when they placed the controls so high up.

That being said, I really like the stereoscopic 3D, so I don't think I would ever get a 2DS. But yeah, it seems in terms of control placement, the 2DS might be the best for my hands.

I find the XL best for my purposes due to the battery life and the increased screen size, but it's really worth remembering that the 2DS is not made for adults. It is designed to be sturdy (hinges are known to break sooner or later in careless hands) and comparatively cheap so that you can give it to younger children who are long used to tablet-like layouts to safely play games without the extra cost for 3D (which young kids shouldn't be using anyway). If you're posting here, I would hazard a guess that you're probably not its likely target market.

Out of the three I really like the XL the most. While I don't own one I played a friend's and it really makes games look much better plus it's easier to use the d-pad. The 2DS is great from a marketing standpoint, since parents are bound to buy one for their young kids since it's the cheaper alternative plus it's recommended that kids bellow the age of 7 shouldn't be playing the games in 3D anyways, plus they are more known to break the other handhelds because of it's clamshell design. It may also confuse parents who are unfamiliar with video games, but that's what employees of stores are for to help their customers. I also love the original 3DS as it's easier to carry around than the XL and the 2DS. But I own the original 3DS and am satisfied with it, but I might upgrade to a XL soon...

The XL is, technically speaking, the best, but I find my normal 3DS with an external batter pack slapped on to be a much more comfortable fit for my hands for long term playing. Really they're all spectacular devices, even the 2DS, which has a cool sort of retro feel/look to it (a sort of "what if we had gone back to the GameBoy mindset? type scenario).

>< I bought an XL and sold my old 3ds to my cousin when I bought X and I wish I hadn't

My vote fully goes to the 3DS XL. The regular 3DS is basic and now cheaper of course, but comparing it to the XL, the screen is really too small! I especially enjoyed to use the big touch screen of the XL to draw in swapnote and... send doodles and notes to my friends and... now I realize I can't do it anymore... s-sorry. It's just, a minute of silence for swapnote. :'(

3DS XL for sure. It's easier for me to hold compared to my 3DS, the screens are easier to see, and the battery life is a lot better. As for the 2DS, haven't touched one.

I'd say the 3DS looks the best, so it has my vote. And if you include how only the 3DS had the opportunity for the ambassador program, I think it wins hands-down. But, you know, the XL has a big screen.

The XL's big screen is the problem for me, it's all pixelated.
Though one plus of the XL is that its way easier to draw on Miiverse with than the small. (Though I just use my Wii U so that point doesn't make me any happier with my mistake).

3DS XL was surprisingly huge when I got it...didn't expect it to be that big!
3DS XL takes the cake for me.

I personally feel the 3DS XL and the 2DS are both taking steps backwards. It's like taking the portable part out of portable handheld console. I love the 3DS because it's small, it easily fits in my pocket, and I can take it anywhere with no hassle. While I know the 3DS XL is more comfortable to hold and play (my friend has one and let me use it for a bit) it's just too big and bulky for me. The same goes for the 2DS, though on a much larger scale. You can't even fold it, which was, in my opinion, one of the biggest selling points of the DS. It's uglier than the iPad and equally as ridiculous.

3DS XL. The bigger screen and longer lasting battery sealed the deal for me.
Plus, as I'm sure lots of people have already said, once you "upgrade" to the bigger screen, it's nearly impossible to go back to a smaller one.

3DS XL obviously has superior in all aspects. My only problem with it is, my hands get too tired after an hour or so of playing. I find it too "heavy".
I never experienced that with my Vita. And with my short experience with the 2DS, I find it rather very comfortable.
But 3DS XL just nailed all the departments in terms of enjoying Nintendo handheld gaming.

Did research before I bought one and went with the XL. The 2DS wasn't out at that time though, but even if it were out I wouldn't have gotten it anyways. I like the XL because of it's large screens. They are not as HD as the regular 3DS's but It fells a lot more comfortable to look at. I also like the shape better, it is really comfortable to hold. Also the thickness is only slightly thicker than the regular 3DS, in proportion to how wide it is, it actually seems that it's actually thinner than the regular one.

I have a 2DS and I am perfectly happy with it. It's comfortable to hold in my hands, and the smooth round edges are comfortably placed in my palms. Also, the buttons are located where my thumbs rest, so my hands are much more relaxed than when I played with the DS. They weren't kidding when they said it was designed to lessen the stress on hands. I'm an adult, and it's really comfortable for adult hands as well. I'm impressed.

Besides, it isn't as 'huge' as most people think, and it fits right in my makeup pouch, so I can also carry it around without worrying about the screens getting damaged. It's also very light, just around the same weight as my smartphone.

There's no hinges that might get snapped, and the home button is more easy to press. I also like how the LR buttons are stretched so my forefingers can reach without difficulty.

So my choice goes to 2DS because it is so friendly for the hands. I don't care about 3D graphics that much anyways.

The original 3DS... I mean, in my eyes there is absolutely no competition here. The 3DS XL and 2DS both look incredibly tacky. The original 3DS has a great design (and it has a sparkly finish... You can't beat that! ^^), isn't too big, and folds so it can easily fit in purses and pockets.

3DS XL for me. I upgraded from a DS Lite last year and I am never, NEVER going back to that tiny screen! I just wish Nintendo would release those cooler XLs with awesome designs that are limited to Japan (that Charizard XL especially).

I never have the 3D option on. It hurts my eyes. XD
