In the poll, I've listed the characters debut appearance and the episode they debuted in for the main cast. I kinda exclude Ash, because well, he introduced the world of Pokemon to us so its not fair.

You can vote for more than one character too, so don't only choose one.

Who had the best debut and left the best first impression?

I haven't seen most of these debut episodes so I'll just go with TR's debut. Its probably the most memorable out of all the major characters IMO. Lots of scenes stood out like the scene when they were on a hot air balloon with the moon in the background, infiltrating the Pokemon Center and the epic motto.

I did think TR's debut was sinister and comedic at the same time.
 
There's no way to change it into a multiple choice poll. You'd have to restart the thread.
 
my vote goes for Dawn! Her debut was really focusing on her and was really well done.

Are you only saying Dawn because she got most of the episode to herself? You thought it was better than the other female's debuts?

Yeah, she got loads more focus than Misty and Iris, and some more than May.
 
Definitely Team Rocket. It showed a more intimidating (for the most part) side of them , while showing that they could also work as comic relief.

And their motto in that episode is one of my favorites.
 
I wish this was multiple choice. Because to me it's between Team Rocket, Dawn, and Trip.
 
Am I the only one who picked Gary? I liked him riding off on a moving truck-thingy with a bunch of cheering girls XD
 
Okay guys, this is now a Contest thread, so people posting should start giving reasons for their choice in the poll from now on.
 
I voted for Misty, because I loved that she wasn't shoved down our throats. She felt fresh, original, and funny!
 
You can't really beat Team Rocket in Pokemon Emergency. Showdown At Pewter City is also fabulously memorable, but Team Rocket's intro is IMO more effective than Brock's. Jenny of Viridian City (the ORIGINAL Jenny)'s introduction was great too in that episode.

But why is there no option for Giovanni in Battle Aboard The St. Anne? It might not be of much consequence now, but that was a pretty big deal back then.
 
Cilan's debut was technically the fifth episode actually :x

but his was the best, because triplets.
