Which of your favourite moves do u think have not been used enough in the anime that the pokemon of a main character knows?

For me its Ashs donphan and earthquake. I only remember it using it a few times as phanphy and not again after that. Ash should have used that move more.

I think Ash's Tauros has Earthquake or Fissure but only used it one time.

Ash's Squirtle using Skull Bash. It seemed to be its signature move but only uses it once per battle.

Pikachu using any electric attack besides Thunderbolt (and Volt Tackle now, I guess).

Pretty much any status move other than (insert status here) Powder/Spore and Hypnosis, and even that has been fairly unseen until Fantina started spamming it. But things like Thunder Wave or Toxic are just completely unseen.

You know I always wanted to see Ash face a trainer that uses moves like Toxic and see how Ash would handle it?

Maybe he’ll get to face someone like that for the Sinnoh League

Ws Astonish used much? I remember James Chimecho used it, but other than that, it has not been seen and quite a few pokemon can learn it, so I don't see why it was only used by chimecho. For me, I have wanted to see a lileep in Anime use it, it looks strange enough to begin with and shouting loudy while coming at you would look so freaky.

Actually, Thunder Wave was used by Lance's Dragonite and, if I remember right, by Drake's Dragonite too, and Jackson's Magneton really overused that move during his battle against Ash. It's not seen that often, but still.

Most underused would probably be the ones that have been used, like, never, like Growl and Focus Energy and most non-attacking moves. Baton Pass obviously hasn't been seen, really, and I don't think Substitute was either, until Shaymin used in in the movie.

There really hasn't been much Spikes/Toxic Spikes/Stealth Rock either.

If I recall Roarks onix used Stelth rock and hit Ash Pikachu with it, but I can't recall other times it was used. I thought it was in part two of the ranger riolu episode, but it was rock tomb and rock smash.

Tail whip has been rarly used, once early on by Pikachu I think and Psyduck and has covet been used much? Other moves less used:

Tickle, Tackle, Body Slam?, Hammer Arm, Pluck, Roost, Crunch, Lovley Kiss, Hydro Cannon, Blast Burn, Agility and Zap Canon (Minus the probopass that used it in the filler episode when TR stole the probopass of the trainer after Ash battled it so the nosepass could evolve.)

Oh, snap, forgot the Roark episode... although I'm not sure if I even saw that one.

The only Tail Whip I remember seeing was when Psyduck used it in that Bridge Bike Gang-episode back in Kanto. That was one of the best scenes ever.

I'm pretty sure Blast Burn was never used in the anime. We've seen Frenzy Plant, a few times, but never Blast Burn.

Gary had Blastoise use Hydro Cannon in his Johto League battle with Ash, but that was 4Kids dub mistake because Hydro Cannon didn't exist yet (but I think Jun's Empoleon knows Hydro Cannon if I remember).

As for Blast Burn, I'm pretty sure we haven't seen that move in the anime yet.

My guess for blast burn is that Ash's Charizard comes back and uses it.

Has fly been used in anime or does the birds flying about in battle count as the move fly?

In the Silver Conference, I think Ash tells Charizard to "fly", but it wasn't really an attack, so I don't think it has been used that much.

Does seem that Fly is used more for defense in the anime, rather than an offensive attack like in the games.
