Which names do you have a habit of misspelling?

For some strange reason, I have alternate spellings of Pokemon that I often use, and I was wondering if anybody else did too.

My examples are, basically:

  • Buoysel (All the freaking time. I refuse to use "Buizel".)
  • Feraligator
  • "Glyscor" (Although not as much.)
As for the moves, I will use Canadian spelling for the moves, so "Odour Sleuth", for example, would not be immune.

I just want to know if this is a problem that only I have, or whether anyone else does something similar.
 
Vapoureon is something that I have to fight back everytime.

A majority of the time I write Bouysel instead of Buoysel.

Kiriehana is my first instinct rather than Kireihana.

There is probably more.
 
Feraligtr - not even sure if I spelled it right.
Typhlosion - another one.
Cresselia - I'm confused if it's Crescelia.

But it's actually "Buizel"... >_> (Unless you actually mean the Japanese spellings. My list is of the misspellings. As in, I spell it the Japanese way in English. And I like it that way. :p)
 
The only one I have trouble with is Azumarill. I never remember if it has two r's or two l's.

I know I always use true English spelling when ever i write moves, mainly coz Im Australian, so we use 'u' in words like 'odour' and 'armour'...

There are a few pokemon I have trouble remembering how to spell...
Bellosom is one...im not sure if it should have two 'l' and/or two 's'.
 
Well, I was talking about ones that you misspell on purpose, but alright. Let's turn it into that thread.

For example, I always use "Buoysel", not just in fanfic.
 
Oh, that.

I used to spell it Pikachuu on purpose, but I think that was the only one. I can't even bring myself to write it "Feraligator" or "Victreebell"...they look too weird.

I, on the other hand, can't bear to see it spelled "Feraligatr" outside of the games where I know it's just a limit. It's at least excusable when there's a physical limit on Pokemon names, but keeping it in other publications?

"Victreebell" was kind of an exception for me - I never thought it was supposed to be that. But "Feraligatr" is just... wurgh.

It sounds too much like "mischeivous", which is what I took it for when I first heard the name.

Graveler (probably on account that I use British spellings mostly, such as "traveller")

I've noticed that I only misspell Generation I Pokemon for the most part. Kinda odd, considering I'm most familiar with those ones and they've been around the longest.
 
I misspell Gyarados a lot, but that's a common mistake. Apart from that, with abilities like Kecleon's, I spell it the British (aka correct) way "Colour Change". Why can't they change the spellings in the EU-English versions? We have to wait longer for release due to EU laws...might as well make it worth it.

Wobbuffet is another tricky one.
 
Gyarados and treecko. I'm always tempted to spell treecko without the C and I always forget about the Y in gyarados.
 
I have this habit of reading Typhlosion as Typholusion and to write it this way, though I correct it afterwards. There are others that I couldn't spell right before, but I finally got used to the right spelling. Typholusion Typhlosion is not one of them.
