I'm not going to include Tracey on the poll, since its pretty obvious Ash's adventure in Orange Islands would have played out virtually the same whether he was there or not. Tracey also invited himself on the main group for no reason other to meet Prof. Oak, and while he had a decent friendship with Ash, it was nothing too remarkable.

Which of Ash's friends otherwise do you think made the least impact on Ash's character himself or his adventure in that particular region said character was around for? Which character affected Ash the least?

It's too early to say for Iris and Cilan, so I'd say Max. Everyone else had a big impact on Ash's journey. :)
 
I have to say I'm going with Max as well.
Mostly every one else on this poll has had at least some impact or closer friendship with Ash :/
 
Gee, I wonder why you put Max along with May, it couldn't possible so we only have the one person you want everyone to vote for...

I voted for Max, not May, but Max.
 
Cilan - because I think that Ash is affecting him more than the inverse, which is a nice change ;)

Now, why would you lump May and Max together when they are obviously different characters and can't really be judged as a package? Curious.
 
Where's Tracey on this list? I would choose him.

Another thread created by Scott that disguises itself as an innocent question yet its real purpose is to cause people to argue... yay... and big LOL at May and Max being one option together and at Iris and Cilan being included before the BW series is over...

*reminds Scott BW's first 10 eps already aired so he can just stop watching like he said he'd do*

Anyways I say Max, he didn't exactly effect Ash's character...except maybe be a big brother...
 
Because Dawn fulfilled Ash's life like no other girl did before.

LOL, DANG!!! You already mentioned that we can't choose Tracy. I can't comment on Iris or Cilan to BW is over, then i'll know for sure. Brock and Ash are like brothers and Ash learned as much from Brock as he did from any of his battles. Misty traveled with Ash for a long time and while she didn't have as big of an impact as Brock she definitely left her mark. So, i'm gonna say May and Max, but only because you have them together. If they were single it would be just Max.

In all honesty I forgot to put Dawn there. Can a mod edit in a Dawn option on the poll?

And I put May and Max together because they kinda were treated as a set by the writers.

No 0__o if anything, the "sets" of AG were Ash/May and Brock/Max...
Anyway, obviously Tracey and Max (especially Tracey) are the answer to this question... all the others had their good amount of influence on Ash
 
Max, but only because he's like seven years old and apparently can't own dangerous fighting monsters called Pokemon (even though people that are ten years old can).

But why put Max and May together? They have no right to do be together, apart from the fact that they're siblings of course.
 
Voted for Iris. Not because I dislike her, but because I feel like she hasn't had a great impact on Ash's Unova journey.
 
I really don't get why we have polls like these where Iris and Cilan are included when it's painfully obvious that it's far too early in the series to pass judgment on them like we can with the other options. And that is piss-poor reasoning for making May and Max one option.

So far I really do feel that Iris is having little to no effect on Ash's journey in BW, but I can't say that with total certainty until BW is more... er, complete. Other than that, it'd have to be Max because of his limited role and capabilities. But I still wouldn't say Max had no affect on Ash whatsoever...
 
It is hard to say that Iris or Cilan had the "least impact" on his journey since they are still travelling with Ash to this day. Best Wishes had only started up a bit less than 8 months ago in Japan.

I'll go ahead and say that Max had the least impact on Ash's journey since the former hardly contributed to the group's efforts. Max was seen helping out on occassion, but those incidents were very sporadic. I feel that the best Max has done to affect Ash's journey were the events in the Ralts episode. Ash sent his Snorunt, a pokemon he had just captured the episode before, to escort Max to the Pokemon Center. Most of Max's interactions with the main group were either with May or with Brock. The only time Max influenced Ash's journey involved the Petalburg Gym; the most notable example being when Max refused to give Ash the Balance Badge.

Tracey did not do much either, if anything, to impact Ash's journey in the Orange Islands. The other characters were, at the very least, shown to battle Ash on more than one occassion. Brock, May, and Dawn each helped out with Ash training his pokemon. Misty also served as one of Ash's rivals in the Whirl Cup.

[If only Max had his own poll button, then the choice should be obvious...]
