Which of Ash’s Grass-Type Starters Is Your Favorite?

Simple Thread. Ash has always had the grass-type starter in every generation, so which is your favorite?

It’s a hard for me to pick, but I’m going to go with Sceptile since he was such a badass and had a very stubborn attitude.

So who is your favorite?

I'll still probably say Bulbasaur overall.

After that Sceptile, and Grotle/Bayleef are tied for me. Bayleef had a better personality than Grotle, but Grotle is going through better development.

I'm not a major Johto fan, but I thought Bayleef had the best character overall. It's character is very unique (as Chikorita at least), whilst the other starters have no character at all. The others have the whole generic protector/tough guy attitude that every other Pokemon in the series seems to have.

Bulbasaur is my favorite as it was the first grass-type Pokemon Ash captured.

Definitely Sceptile. I just loved its attitude from the time it was a Treecko.

What DashingFox said. That said, Chikorita is one of my favorite "Pokemon" in general, but I've always kinda liked Sceptile. That Leaf Blade is epic. :3

Not that I don't adore all the others, though. The Grass starters are easily some of Ash's most loveable Pokémon. ^^

Bulbasaur's personality was great, notably when it showed with Ash's Squirtle. I loved those two!
Bayleef was ok too and Sceptile was cool, but his personality was a little boring in a long run. Grotle then hasn't so much personality, when compared with Ash's other grass-types.

I really don't know, but I'm leaning towards Bulbasaur, Sceptile and Grotle.

So what if it's a loner? Makes a great personality out of all of Ash's pokemon.

I don't really care about them, but if I had to choose, it's probably Bayleef.

The only problem with Sceptile is his final form was only around for a short time. They should have had Grovyle evolve again early.

Sadly they're making the same mistake with Monferno in DP. They waited too damn long to evolve Chimchar, and now because of this I bet we won't get Infernape until the end of this generation.

Why must the writers wait so long to give Ash a fully evolved starter? The final forms get almost no screentime.

I like Sceptile. It's fast and tough.
