I like both better then the one in leaf green and fire red because that one they just stuck in the game and didn't seem as it had any personality to them. I like Kotone more then Kris though because she seems goofy.

i think id have to say i like konote better, i think she kinda reminds me off myself (especially what trieu said about her being goofy) lol

but i like them both, only kotone a bit better. i havnt played the original GSC so i wouldnt know anything about kris, but i wish i did, she seems interesting!

First, it's Kotone.

And I prefer Kris. Kotone is an intruder. She's a pointless replacement. Introducing her was unfair.

Also, Kotone is nothing more than a typical Japanese loli. Kris was much better, she was different than all those loli player girls. Not to mention one of the nicest girls in the Pokemon ever, IMHO.

It also calls for the poll.

If HGSS used Kris, she'd be the fandom's all-time favourite girl.

Kotone.

Kris, while being pretty much color blind and even more void of any fashion sense then any of the characters now, was nice to start the Girl/Boy option. She should stay as just that, the start to that option. She wasn't technically in GS, and since this is technically speaking remakes of GS with updates including Crystal, not two remakes of Crystal, she doesn't belong in HGSS.

As a note, that kotone Kris sprite cannot be real. For one the skirt is horribly made (and badly designed, geez, keeping Kris's fail outfit concept?), but the shading isn't right either.

Kris is very dear to me, because Crystal was my first Pokémon game ever. Kotone is cute and I like her design really much, but I'm gonna go with nostalgia and say Kris.

This thread is going to lead to petty fights and character bashing. :/ There's already enough of these threads on other forums.

I like them equally, if they aren't the same. I love Kotone's design to bits, but I find it pointless and silly to replace Kris (or any player character in general) simply because GameFreak wanted more loli. I think they should of introduced her in the 5th Gen instead, so everyone would be happy and no one would be replaced. If she's a replacement, I won't get my hopes up of May Leaf or Dawn starring in future remakes.

If she's a vast redesign, I prefer Kotone's HGSS one. "Kris"'s clothes were alright and I liked the fact she was a tomboy who didn't give a damn about fashion. The only things that bugged me about her design was the overall "yellowness" and bright neon blue hair that blinded me. Not to mention her swimming cap (or was it a Kippah?) because it looked ..odd on her. As for Kotone, there isn't anything I dislike about her design. Her newsboy hat could be smaller, but it's pretty cute and I prefer it over Kris's swimming cap thing.
