This is not to so much the Gym leader personalities, just the battles. I'm excluding Orange because only two of those Gyms actually had any battles, and I'm not including Battle Frontier because those weren't actually Gyms. I know D/P has only three Gyms under its belt so far, but I'll include that.

Which region had the most exciting battles during Gyms?

I'd have to say Hoenn. In Kanto Ash won, what, three out of eight badges by actually beating the Gym Leader in a battle? Hoenn to me seemed to have some of the best-quality battles, even if there were a few odd moments during them (Swellows Thunder armour, for one).

I disagree, true the battling portions of the hoenn gym matches were intresting, but most if not all of those battles had lackluster finishes that crapped them out in the end.

Heck Jouto at least had decent finishes in gym battles even if the fighting portion wasn't as good.

Kanto1 was of course flawed massively and we can't judge sinnoh yet.

In this order, I vote Hoenn, Jouto, then Kanto. We haven't gotten to all the Gyms in Shinou yet so I cannot say I like it or not. So far, I've grown to liking them first. I'd say Hoenn first in terms of the completion of gyms. VS Norman, and VS Winona were my favorite ones to watch.

Jouto, regardless of their dull fillers, had their battles and their final strikes planned out during the Gym battles (and 1 out of 8 Gym battles had an unexpected end).

Kanto was rushed to no end, and only VS Blaine was good, while VS Lt. Surge was second.

Johto had it's up moments within the Gym battle areas (Meaning he actually won them fair and square), and so far DP is looking fine.

Yeah, from the looks of things I think D/P is going to have the best Gym battles by the time it ends. I mean, they're just so action packed. You really feel like there's so much going on in battles now, as opposed to the "Use one tackle attack and the opponent faints" that we had back in the Kanto Gyms, especially in the Viridian Gym where Gary takes out Giovanni's Kingler with something as stupid as tackle attack in one shot.

I think the best Johto Gyms were Falkner and Clair, mainly because of Charizard's performance in both. We also had Snorlax return in the Clair match which was nice to see.

In Hoenn, I always really liked the Brawly, Flannery, Norman, Winona and Juan Gym battles. Roxanne's battle was ok but nothing too special, and Tate/Liza has the infamous Thunder Armor craziness.

Actually, Shigeru's Nidoking and Golem were doing the Tackles. Strange that one with such huge defense and Normal protection got run over with that attack. Then again, there's the Thunderbolt/Thunder piercing Ground-types (but not Rock monsters?), so I wonder if we'll ever get an electric attack with type/defense ignorance.

The Shinou Gyms so far got me out of my chair everytime, so I'm all in favor of their performances... at least until they somehow blow it in 1 Gym. Still couldn't see if that Thunderbolt of Pikachu's cheeks did any damage to Roark's Onix.

The gyms have just been getting better and better with each series. Of the three complete regions, I'd rank them Hoenn > Johto > Kanto, and Shinou seems to be shaping up to be even better, unless they totally screw up the rest of the battles.

i never got to see any Hoenn episodes.Plus i never saw any Jhoto. So I said Shinou.
I realy didnt like how ash got badges by basicly showing up.

The Sinnoh Gyms seem to be tougher on Ash too for some reason. He's losing a lot more this region than any previous one, and Maylene gave him a fight for his money.

Since I haven't seen all the eight gym battles in Sinnoh, I'll stick with Hoenn. (The closest thing that Ash got for a fluke for a Hoenn gym match was VS Wattson).

So in other words, you're just voting for the sake of voting? What Gyms stood out?

Sinnoh. The battles are longer and the animation is better, and we get to know the gym leader before the gym battle too.

However Kanto still had the single best gym battle IMO. The Blaine gym battle just kicked ass.

I liked the hoenn gym battles the best. But i have a feeling sinnoh will have the best gym battles before its over with. But my fave gym battle would be the 7th gym blaine battle to.

I really did enjoy the Sinnoh Gym Battles so far. The battle themselves really do look good and everything plus the ways the battles are won actually makes sense. Instead of Hoenn with the Swellow that wouldn't faint from all of that electricity and Pikachu who somehow lifted a Milotic that must be twice it's weight. In Kanto, the battles do seem very lackluster and predictible. Johto, I really can't say much because I need to look at them again.

and Pikachu who somehow lifted a Milotic that must be twice it's weight.

That's not any different than Turtwig swinging Rampardos by the tail like a ragdoll. Rampardos should weigh tons and there's no realistic way Turtwig could twirl that thing using its mouth.

That's why its best to ignore those things and just enjoy the battle, because the anime never pays much attention to weight rules. At least Pikachu throwing Milotic made somewhat more sense, given that, its Pikachu. :p

I'm going with the majority and say Sinnoh, the latest gym just had me on the edge of my chair. Not to mention the animation has been great and you get good character development on each gym leader too. Oh yah the rival Paul/Shinji is another intresting aspect of the gyms, he's a fun rival.
