Funny thing is since Donphan is coming back for the league, why are people acting like it was part of his Johto team? Donphan may be "a" Johto Pokemon, but that doesn't mean it is part of his old Johto team.

For example, if you go back to watch the Johto saga, Ash has NO Donphan on his team. He has a Phanpy, but absolutely NO Donphan. So how is Donphan part of Ash's Johto team? That doesn't even make sense.

So when Ash uses Donphan in DP, I will consider it a tribute to his AG team, along with Corphish, Torkoal and Glalie, (and hopefully Sceptile/Swellow)

The only reason Donphan is strong is its because all of Ash's AG Pokemon were strong, and it was not part of his Johto team.

I voted for both, but as for you whatever makes your boat float Scott.

After all, anyone can clearly see this thread's purpose is to make you feel more comfortable and self-assured that Hoenn owns Johto in every way possible and that you stand corrected.

I'm just saying :)

They are the same character. I really don't understand why you count the evolutions as separate Scott.

Donphan is a Johto team pokemon. It was obtained in Johto and participated in the Silver Conference. Just because it evolved in a different saga doesnt make it automatically a Hoenn/BF pokemon. I think you dont want to count it on the Johto team because Donphan is a powerhouse and you dont want anything to get in the way of your johto hate

So when cynda evolves he will be part of the sinnoh team?

yeah,wo-hoo scott logic!

They are all part of one team:the team of pokemon owned by Ash.

Well Donphan was on the show during an AG-era saga along with Sceptile/Swellow/Corphish.

You will never find an old Johto saga ep with Ash having a Donphan. So therefore it was not part of that team.

Why am I replying this!?

Like boss said before, donphan is the same character as phabpy,he didn't transform in a new persona with new memories. He is phanpy,if Ash did like Ritchi and nicknamed him (lets say "rollo" for the sake of illustrating the example)he would still be rollo.Rollo was in both the Johto and BF parties.

If that's the case then Heracross, Snorlax and every other pokemon he brought back for BF was also on the Hoenn team since they were on the show during the AG saga

So does that mean Quilava is part of his Sinnoh team?

No, they were reserves brought back for one battle or so.

Donphan was on Ash's roster for an entire region. Do you not understand the difference between reserves brought back for single episodes and something that was part of his roster for an entire saga?

Technically, Donphan is a part of Ash's Hoenn team. It evolved during AG and was used in the Battle Frontier.

Phampy was hardly even used before that. So really, that's why I consider it a part of Ash's Hoenn/BF team.

I understand that you are very overdramatic. The majority of things that you want to happen never do, you might want to start thinking the opposite or being more optimistic if you want your wishes to come true.

Besides, Johto wasn't bad. Ash's Cyndaquil in Johto >>>>> Ash's Torkoal, you can't deny this.

Actually for about half of that he was still a Phanpy. The point is Donphan evolved from his Phanpy which he got in JOHTO!!!!. Just because you dont like Johto doesnt mean you have to make excuses for why the good Johto pokemon wasnt a Johto team member. Just because he evolves in a different saga doesnt mean he changes teams

They're the same pokémon, it was caught in Johto, it participated in the Johto league... there Johto.

But Donphan was on Ash's Hoenn team. Even Phanpy was part of Ash's Hoenn team.

Battle Frontier ran for 65 episodes with Phanpy/Donphan.

When people ask, "What was Ash's Battle Frontier team?"

We reply, "Sceptile, Swellow, Corphish, and Donphan."

I'd say both, since it was introduced as a Phanpy in the Johto saga. Then it came back in the BF saga so yeah. It was used more often when it came back but I wouldn't set it apart from the Johto team just because it came sort of late.

But Ash's Hoenn Team =/= Ash's BF Team. Torkoal and Glalie were both left at Oak's lab before the BF even started

Eh, Phanpy was only tagged on at the last minute of Johto and didn't really do much before its triumpant AG comeback. To choose between the two, I'd go for the Battle Frontier (not Hoenn; hay thar, Torkoal and Glalie) line-up.

If anything, Bulbsaur deserves that spot. He was around much longer.

Not that it really matters? '_'

Yes,because then Scott couldn't say that the whole Johto team was the weakest without contradicting himself. He needs to brainwash us first by saying Donphan wasn't part of it,since he considers it is strong.

EDIT:

Of course it matters. Donphan being a strong Pokemon does not mean Ash's Johto team was strong or well-handled.

Donphan did not happen till AG, because all of Ash's Pokemon that saga were properly handled to a degree.

When I see it in the league, I'm going to say, "Wow, its great to see an old AG favorite like Donphan back in action!"

See?Predictable Cybercubed is predictable ;D

But you act like Johto is such a bad saga, and everything apart of it.

Newsflash, Scott, if this is such a bad show, why are you still watching?
