Ok, so if there were an olympic or World Cup-like tournament for Pokemon trainers, who would be the top 10-20 trainers in the world invited?

Cynthia? Elite Four members?

Who in your opinion, are the top trainers in the world? And Why? Rank them if you want?

Cynthia and Lance seem like the top two to me, with the rest of the Elite Fours right after them.

Do you think Ash can ever make his way into this group?

So far I see Cynthia, she has the power and garchomp seems pretty tough and we have not yet seen all her pokemon. Ash could get into this group if the writers let him rotate his pokemon so they are got fairly trained, used and evolved and became powerful, so without that, I'm not sure if he could. He could capture new pokemon, but what good would that do?

Could end up with a similar pokemon to Gligar or Chimchar, which because of their feeings, were hard to handle and control. He could not become elite by catching pokemon and them being instantly powerful, bring back his older pokemon and mayeb he'd stand a good chance.

Well, if there were such a group, I'm sure Ash would want to be included in that.

It's really hard to say, because I'm sure there are millions of powerful trainers in the Pokémon World (since I'm sure there are plenty of trainers outiside the four regions we know now) but I guess all the Champions (Lance, Wallace, Cynthia, possibly Steven) would be included. The Elite Four in every region too, perhaps. And the Frontier Brains.

In my opinion, it would really show how strong Ash is if he would rather not make his Pokémon evolve. If he could win powerful Pokémon like Garchomp with the likes of Chimchar, Bulbasaur, Squirtle and others, it would really earn him the position in a group like that.

Agree with you here. If Ash ever makes it to elite status however that is done, it will be with the same methods he uses now. Perhaps he will train his best Pokemon from the past instead of continuing to always catch new ones, but he will always rely more on friendship and all that intangible stuff rather than evolution or nonfriendly training techniques.

I have a hard time figuring out, how many people in the world are actually Pokemon trainers. I wonder approximately how many trainers actually exist in the Pokemon World?

That depends on how big the Pokémon World is, exactly. Is it just one country with numerous regions, or is it the same size as our world?

I think we've already established that the Pokémon World is not our world...
