So, who would you like to see as a playable character in the next Super Smash Bros. game? Personally, I'd like Zoroark, Professor Layton, Waluigi, Toadsworth, Birdo, Tails, Knuckles, and Mega Man.

How about you?

I'd like to see Dixie Kong, Zoroark, Sora/Roxas, Waluigi(surprised he wasn't playable), Geno, Louie, Hilbert(the new PKMN Trainer, w/ Tepig, Servine, and Samurott), and perhaps Tails.

Hector, Lyn (but with a new model, the assist trophy's face was odd) , Sora (different colors: different KH costumes.) , Sephiroth as a boss, Ridley as a PC (charizard sized). Also, I think Roy should make a reapperance as a PC again.
And remove Resetti as an assist trophy. And add Stunfisk as a Pokeball pokemon, it'd just flop around and randomly Thunderbolt people.

Haha, nice one.

I'd like to see Roy (of Fire Emblem), and Mewtwo return, with Tails, Zoroark, and me Galactic Knight (from Kirby Super Start Ultra).

Hmm, and your Mii as a player would be awesome. You could probably either customize your moveset and appearence from a wide variety of choices, or use a set based on actual Wii equipment (for example, using the Wiimote and Nunchuck in the regular A+A+A combo).

Oh, and add Reshiram, Zekrom, and Kyurem as Poke-Ball 'Mons. Reshiram summons a Draco Meteor, Zekrom gets onto the stage and uses Outrage, and Kyurem freezes the other players with Glaciate.
As a bonus, if Resh and Zek are both out at the same time, they use Fusion Flare and Fusion Bolt to attack each other, nearly wrecking the stage in the process.

As far as Assist Trophies are concerned, I think it'd be cool to see Dr. Mario (takes the players to a giant pill bottle, where fighting commences on the Viruses for 30 seconds), Knuckles (pound the other players into the ground, then punch 'em off), and the other Miis on the system (I dunno, maybe a Wii Music concert?).

Though, to be honest, I don't think there willbe another SSB game. I don't know why.

Mewtwo and Midna from Twilight Princess would make great additions to the next fighting rooster, I especially wanted to see Midna in Brawl.

Louie from the Pikmin series would be a great addition, and the Titan Dweevil would be an EPIC Final Smash. The Dream Den would be a pretty awesome place to encounter him too. And the Pellet Posies would make an awesome Item, but i have no idea what it would do.

Zoroark should also be playable, along with Hilbert (or Hilda) taking the place Pokemon Trainer.

Waluigi, with his tennis racket should be playable.

I would like to see Castelia City as a stage, and a Potion Item.

And for some reason, Baby Mario.

Expected (meaning I am willing to bet on them being in):

Starfy

Realistically (meaning I believe they actually have a shot at getting in):

Daisy
Toon Zelda / Tetra
Professor Layton
Animal Crossing player
Plusle and Minun (maybe under command of a ranger)
Kamek
Waddle Dee

Hopefully (meaning I don't really think they'll make it):

Luke (from professor Layton)
Sceptile (as part of a second pokémon trainer cycle)
Eliwood
Harvest Moon guy
Toad
That shell guy from the Starfy series.
Lineback
Shaymin
Hector (Fire Emblem)
Sain (Fire Emblem)

Never gonna happen, but wouldn't it be awesome?:

Phoenix Wright
Sissel (Ghost Trick)
Roxas / Xion (Kingdom Hearts)

I demand Ridley. There is no reason Ridley cannot be in SSB.

I want the series that only have one or two representatives to be expanded. =/ Espicially F-Zero... I WANT SAMURAI DARNIT! He appeared in the melee opening but he was never there... just a trophy... *pouts* Oh I also want Louie, pikmin deserves more even if it can't get much, I love the puzzles in it! OH and I'd love Sakurai if my favorite villain/ character of all time was there... from M3, but I'm sure another representative for that series is unlikely. T_T I want to play the Masked Man... Well anyways who else am I missing...

Zoroark should replace Lucario, Red should stay but get new pokemon as mentioned. I'd love it if they added Dixie Kong, of Candy or Funky or something, I just got DKCR and started playing it and it's not bad... Fire Emblem I don't really know much about, but maybe bring back Roy? Kid Icarus should get Medusa as a boss in the game or something. And that's all I can think of. I doubt there's going to be new Sonic or MGS characters, since those belong to companies that aren't exactly owned by Nintendo. So that's probably it. OH and keep Jigglypuff but her make her better, PLEASE.

This. That whole 'he wouldn't work because they'd have to resize him' argument was such a crock. As if it was ever an issue to begin with.

In any case, there are a number of characters I'd want to be included (King K.Rool! Pulseman!), but I'd like more female characters make it into the roster for the next game. I really can't argue with the new additions to Brawl, as they were all awesome in their own way, but I do remember being dissapointed that there were so few girls added to the cast. Off the top of my head, I'd like to see;

Dixie Kong - The DK series could do with some more representation, and kong-wise, Dixie is the only playable one left who holds any real relevence. Adding to, she was already planned for Brawl anyway, and was ditched at some point during development, so we know there's interest in using her. She has the potential for a fun-moveset what with her unique ability to use her hair as a weapon.

Quinty - From the game of the same name, or 'Mendel Palace' as it was known in the US. It was GameFreak's first video game, and the first to be on a Nintendo system too. As a character, she's extremely athletic and has magical abilities, so she's pretty much built for a fighting game.

Jill - From Drill Dozer. This is mostly because of bias, but I also feel that she'd make for a great fighter in her own right. Who wouldn't want to drill into Sonic's skull, huh?

Lip - From Panel de Pon. They've already got the 'Lip's Stick' item, and the puzzle series is one that has been reused and reskined by Nintendo for years now. I think it'd be cool if they gave the game it's dues and included the main character from the first.

Kumatora - From Mother 3. Sadly, most of her PSI moves have already been stolen by Lucas and Ness, though they could always play up her tomboy persona by incorperating her gloves and leaning towards physical-based moves instead. Additionally, there's always PK Ground and Magnet, and a bunch of assist moves they could toy around with.

Hmm... definitely Midna, I really do think there could be a place for her in the Smash roster. Also Ridley; I don't think that resizing him would be too much of a problem, and if it is... just make him a biggish, heavyweight character, I don't know.

As for Pokémon, I think Gold we be a good step up from Red, who was in Brawl. Or, for an even bigger change, they could make it Kotone, who knows. Anyway, my vote for their Pokémon would be either Cyndaquil, Croconaw & Meganium or Chikorita, Quilava & Feraligatr, so that they break the previous sequence completely.

Simon Belmont, Alucard and Dracula from Castlevania. Those 3 because they are the most recognizable of all characters in the series.

Well, I had a speculation blog earlier (which I kind of got bored of...haha!), and here's what I thought...I think that, for starting characters, they should focus on lesser known series as opposed to digging for minor characters in pre-existing franchises.

New Starting Characters:

*Isa Jo (Sin and Punishment 2): Well, his dad Saki was in Brawl as an AT...but, I thought it'd be interesting if his son got in simply because he's "fresher", so to speak. Anyway, my idea for his fighting style took advantage of his jet pack...he could use it in order to fly around, but it would have to recharge thus making the player use it wisely. The energy of it also effected his attacks...you could be a light character with weak attacks and flight, or stay grounded with strong attacks and a bit more weight.

*Issac (Golden Sun): While Sin and Punishment would use the new generation rep, Issac would get in over his son, Matthew. I was thinking you could switch between the four Djinn which would modify his attributes and attacks, making him a bit different from the other swordsmen.

*Barbara the Bat (Jam With The Band): The "Japanese-only character", she was an AT like Issac and Saki, and I hear she's pretty popular in Japan and makes a few cameos in other games...plus she's a non-Princess female, and one of the few. I was thinking she could have moves that get stronger by following a rhythm, like an advanced version of DK's final smash.

*Starfy (Starfy): He's got a game in America finally, so why not? I was thinking his whole move-set would make use of his spinning abilities...you could link three special moves in a row, and the place in the combo determined its strength. He'd basically "swim" through the air. So, he'd be a fast and fun character to use. He'd also be the lightest and smallest character in the game.

*Takamaru (Nazo no Masamune Jou): A requested character, who has actually made a recent appearance in one of the Samurai Warrior games, so he has a pre-existing 3D model already, he'd be another swordsman but extremely fast...he'd also have some ninja influence, with an invisibility cloak, wall jumps, and shurikens. Hey, we don't have a katana user!

*Tinstar (Tinstar): My "Dream Character", a cool robot cowboy from the cult classic TinStar. Hey, we have all these Japanese-only dudes running around, why not a US-only character for once? He'd use his guns, of course, and he'd have a bullet system...he could fire real fast, but would have to then recharge.

*Muddy Mole (Mole Mania): A character Sakurai supposedly really wanted, he's from a cult classic GB puzzler...like in that game, he'd carry around the big ball for his attacks, and could also dig underground to avoid attacks.

*Lil Mac (Punch Out!): If there's one character who I know will get in the next Smash, it's Lil Mac. AT in Brawl, and he's got a new game. He'd be a light and quick boxer, naturally, and would have a counter system like in his game where striking at the right moment would boost his power.

New Secret Characters: The Secret Characters, on the other, would be from older series...furthermore, I was thinking the next Smash would focus on Good vs. Evil, and thus all the original eight (Yoshi, due to the fact there's rather little villains from his series that aren't Mario foes, would be replaced by Pit) Smashers would have a villain counterpart. Furthermore, Bowser and King DeDeDe, who were once starting characters, would now be secret with the other six villains. Wolf and Ganondorf would return as Fox and Link's villains, respectively. There'd also be four other non-villain characters from older series as well.

*King K. Rool (Donkey Kong): A lot of people wanted him in Brawl, but he didn't get in (because Sakurai couldn't think of a moveset, apparently). I think he'd probably play similar to Donkey Kong...big, heavy, but FAST, just like in the game, and he'd have his giant jump and crown throw in. He'd also, like DK, be able to carry boxes and barrels without slowing down.

*Ridley (Metroid): Too big? Just say he's the new one from Other M who is still in the process of growing! He'd be big, but not too heavy, and able to fly...a super version of Charizard, I guess.

*Mewtwo (Pokemon): Returns as the Pokemon villain with an altered move set, and Lucario would be gone. I like Lucario better, at least in terms of Smash, but hey, Mewtwo fills the villain role (alright, maybe not really...)

*Medusa (Kid Icarus): Another female character, and a female villain, she'd have magic based moves...we'll have to see what she's capable of in Uprising, too. Given that Sakurai is making the next Kid Icarus, if he makes Smash 4 it wouldn't surprise me to see her.

*Zoroark (Pokemon): Given that Pokemon is Nintendo's cash cow, another Pokemon rep doesn't sound too out of the question...and Zoroark is the popular candidate. Like with Mewtwo and Lucario, it'd be insinuated she's the movie one, and thus another female representative as well. She wouldn't replace Lucario, since Mewtwo kind of does that, but would instead have a more unique move-set that could incorporate her illusion abilities.

*Tingle (Zelda): COME ON! Tingle HAS to get in, and like Pokemon Zelda is one of the Big 3, so another character doesn't seem unlikely...he'd pretty much be the joke character with a move or two that could be strong when used by pro players. The Dan, if you will. His moveset would be a joke version of Link, so he replaces Toon Link basically. He's trying to emulate the hero of time, after all, so he'd have a boomerang that flies backwards, when he does the sword spin the sword flies out of his hand, and his bombs merely blow confetti and stun enemies. He'd also have his balloon, of course!

*Jumpman (Mario): Completing the Big 3, the Mario series would also get a new secret rep...Jumpman. A sprite-looking character similar to Game and Watch, Jumpman, from the original Donkey Kong game (but still counted as a Mario rep since, he's, y'know, Mario) would be the retro character. He'd have an odd movement style mimicking the arcade, but he'd be a bit different from Mario...he'd have a hammer, for one.

*Ryu (Street Fighter): The new 3rd Party rep, and the only one, Ryu would be unlocked by playing a lot of VS modes. Since Mario's move-set in Smash is pretty similar to Ryu (a fireball, a spin, and an uppercut), Ryu himself would be a larger and more powerful Mario clone somewhat. He'd have Hadouken, Dragon Uppercut, Hurricane Kick, and...something else. Hey, Ryu's been in so many other franchise fighters, why not Smash? Plus with the 3DS hosting a Street Fighter game, it's a good time for it!

So, to summarize, here's the full roster I thought of...only Lucario and Toon Link are axed from the previous roster, since Mewtwo and Tingle fill their roles...secret characters in italics...

Mario Series: Mario, Peach, Luigi, Bowser, Jumpman
Zelda Series: Link, Zelda/Shiek, Ganondorf, Tingle
Donkey Kong Series: Donkey Kong, Diddy Kong, King K. Rool
Kirby Series: Kirby, Meta Knight, King DeDeDe
Star Fox Series: Fox, Falco, Wolf
Yoshi Series: Yoshi
Kid Icarus Series: Pit, Medusa
Pokemon Series: Pikachu, Pokemon Trainer, Jigglypuff, Mewtwo, Zoroark
Metroid Series: Samus/ZSS, Ridley
F-Zero Series: Captain Falcon
Mother Series: Ness, Lucas
Fire Emblem Series: Marth, Ike
Ice Climber Series: Ice Climbers
Pikmin Series: Olimar
Wario Series: Wario
New Series (they'd have their own logo in-game, this grouping is just to simplify my list): Isa Jo, Tin Star, Issac, Barbara, Starfy, Takamaru, Lil Mac, Muddy Mole
R.O.B. Series: R.O.B.
Game and Watch Series: Mr. Game and Watch
3rd Part: Sonic, Snake, Ryu

So, that's 49 characters...not too high, but not the lowest...more realistically, I'd probably cut four of the new series...but oh well, this is just a fictional list.

Well, I personally think that they should have the Miis as fighters. I don't know if they will continue to have Miis by the next release, but I think that they could replace game & watch, or easily become their own entity.
I also think that a character from animal crossing could make its way into the game, with it's final smash being the bees nest.
And this one is more of a pipe dream, but I think that Reshiram and Zekrom could be in the game. But it changes in between forms as one of its moves, so that we could change between the two dragons.

I'm also surprised at no wolf link... seems like it could have had such cool potential

Well, ONMUK (Official Nintendo Magazine UK) guessed that Leo from Metal Gear Solid, Miis and the Chibi Robot would all make it through and Shadow the Hedgehog has a good chance of being promoted to playable character. Layton and Luke apparently might get a place and it looks like the girl and boy from Animal Crossing are in as well.
I want Mewtwo back from Melee so badly!

They should have Shinigami-sama from Soul Eater, but they won't. It would be hilarious.

I think they should bring Dr. Mario back, he was really cool. Keep all the other characters, except for Captain Falcon. He's a weirdo.

For the new game I mostly want them to change things. Make Zero Suit Samus less pornographic. Give Zelda more offensive kick attacks. Make Ganondorf less... lame.

Stuff like that.
