I'm wondering if anyone here likes Unown, The Symbol Pokemon that are basically a gimmick?

*raised hand* Oooh, oh I do!

I personally think that they're a really neat gimmick. The idea of ancient hieroglyphs coming to life as Pokemon is just an idea that I found really neat. Plus the atmosphere of the chambers in the original G/S/C was really neat and creepy.

I only liked their anime appearances, where swarms of 'em could get together and mess up stuff. Otherwise, I couldn't care less about them. They're alphabet soup come to life with weak power. Also, PMD's Aegis Cave reeeeally made me hate everything they stood for.

I don't have a problem with them. They're nowhere near my top favorite, but I don't hate them or anything. If fact, I made it my mission in Pearl to catch them all and I'm pretty sure I succeeded. So yeah, there ok.

I like very much of their concept, especially the fan-theory of they act like the fundamental element of universe where when large amount of them arranged in specific order, they attribute to a special power that can even create the universe. I adapt this as my headcanon and use it in my fanfic.

But, other than the concept itself, TBH I don't use it in game. Sadly but yet it is the truth that within the game, they are basically useless, only there for the purpose of collection.

This. I loved them in the movie, where they moved around in swarms, looked really cool. But I don't really care about them ingame.

They're alright, cool concept, great role in the third movie of the anime, but are useless in the games for battling. It learns Hidden Power, and that's it. Not even Psychic, which is very sad IMO.

I am going to prove my utter hardcore Pokemon-fandom (and love for Unown) right here.

It reads 'GHOST' because the Ghost type is my favourite, but it has a deeper meaning than that too. I was feeling VERY depressed at this particular point in my life, like nothing more than a mere shadow of a human walking around solitary. This tattoo reflects how bad I felt, and how we are all just spirits wearing meatbags, bones and skin.

Nah useless as hell, why make a Pokemon only have 1 move...

I only like Unown in the first PMD games, as you can fill up 2 caves (Friend Areas) with them. Alphabet Soup! In a cave! It's like a collection of sorts, kinda like with bugs and bottle caps in real life.

They are also good fonts for certain projects in school (in a real world application sense).

Otherwise... *glares at aegis cave*

It's an absolute pity that Unown doesn't learn Beat Up. It can only utilize its attack stat if a team member uses the move.

The odd damaging move would be a modest move in Unown's arsenal for just those reasons...

Oh, Assist! Unown should have Assist!
