Who should be the next US president?

I think Al Gore should run for president. Even though he probaly won't run.

Hillary Clinton because she would have her husband to ask for advice. She would get this country out of debt, get us out of Iraq, and keep close tabs on things like where US highway money was being spent (Remember the Minnesota Bridge Collapse). It was the Republicans giving President Bush a blank check that messed up this country.

Personally, I don't like any of the possibilities I've seen from either major party. :/ Both are far too extreme in their ideologies. Then again, I'd make a horrific president, so it's better them than me.

I dunno who I'll vote for. I need to find out more about what each person stands for. :/

Her husband is a mush-head. She wouldn't get us out of debt, because she wouldn't be willing to raise taxes for fear of political consequences; unlike Edwards, who has said he would raise taxes to fund his healthcare plan.
She supports the military establishment, and would keep Defense Department funding at current levels, when a drastic reducation is needed.
She supports NAFTA as it currently stands.
She would do NOTHING about poverty, unlike Edwards.
 
She wouldn't listen to Bill anyway.

All of the Republicans are bad news. The U.S. can't handle another four years of Republican rule.

I could say the same about the Democrats, come to think of it. :p That's why I never vote straight down the ticket on just one party... that kind of bias is just a wasted vote.
 
What have the Democrats done to deserve your hatred? Or are you just one of those people who buys Nader's bullshit?

I couldn't agree more.

Meh, personally, it really disappoints me that there's no chance someone who ISN'T a Republican or Democrat could win. :\ Though it'd have more of a chance, perhaps, if more people would vote in the elections.

They're career politicians. That automatically makes them evil. Be they Democrat, Republican, or Independent. They've all got "fresh, new ideas" until they take the oath of office and magically forget all of the ones that didn't have money attached.

Who says I hated 'em? I'm only saying that both parties have played integral parts in the collapse of our economy, as well as the deterioration of our relations with foreign countries. Clinton was gold with diplomatic relations, but he set us up for one of the worst periods our economy has endured in a while. Bush has tried to repair the damage done to our economy, but has failed pretty spectacularly, while all but destroying our image in foreign affairs. Just the same, a lot of our problems wouldn't be here if it weren't for the events that occurred during Clinton's term. Neither side is without guilt. I wish there was a way to right all the wrongs that have happened over the years, but I doubt any president, regardless of party, would be able to find a way to solve ALL the problems - especially since all of the ones involved in either major political party allow the lobbyists and the polls to rule their decisions. :/

Nader's an attention whore. I notice he likes to talk about the problems with the major parties but doesn't do jack shit about them.

I'm for publically funded elections. It would limit the amount of money spent and make sure a candidate didn't have to answer to anyone but the people.

He's run for president several times. What more is he supposed to do? Assassinations? Blackmailing? In case you haven't noticed, there's not a hell of a lot you can do EXCEPT talk and vote and run for office yourself. Unless you want to go down the other road and start assassinating, blackmailing, etc. But those always seem to cause more harm than good.
 
Instead of running as a spoiler he could effect change from within and run for the primaries in one of the major parties. That's my problem. He doesn't run for president to be president for the attention.
