I love all his episodes! I don't know why but he makes all his episodes so good! I think he's the best and better also than Tamagawa! his episodes are so funny an dynamic! What do you think about???

No. Tamagawa is the best animator in the world ever.

/thread.

Iwane and Tamagawa are probably tied for best in my book. Iwane has the best poses and facial expressions and overall animation, but Tamagawa's animation is just as lively and exciting, albeit maybe a little less fluid (though that's not necessarily a bad thing - Tamagawa's characters do a lot of jumping from pose to pose, and it's always really well-timed). Both directors aren't afraid to push the boundaries of TV-budget anime, and for that, I salute 'em.

Do you have some example episodes done by him/them?

I mean the names of the episodes, not video links.

I think him and Tamagawa are both more or less on the same level in many ways, though Tamagawa has really pushed the envelope on several occassions. Stuff like the staircase scene from the Unown ep and Monferno's recent Mach Punch are real eye openers. Having said that, Iwane's actual animation has a more character to it, and is a lot more distinct in comparrison. It's much 'bouncier' and it serves well during comic sequences, wheras his action scenes are really slick and zippy.
But I prefer Tamagawa's illustration style, which isn't quite as on-model as Iwane's, but has a little more charm to it.

If you're looking for episodes done by Iwane, the Byron Gym battle is a good place to start. Or even better, the second part of the Ash/Paul full battle.

Anyway, even though both Iwane and Tamagawa are pretty equal in terms of quality I still have to say I prefer the latter. I don't know why but his artwork just seems more lively than Iwane's. His animation is pretty fluid as well.

Iwane on the other hand has both really fast and fluid movements. But it just doesn't that have that charm that Tamagawa has in terms of artwork.

Iwane's the better animator in some ways, but Tamagawa's a great animator too and I like his artwork better. Though Iwane's artwork is top notch as well... They're both pretty much equal in quality, I think. I can't pick a favorite out of the two of them, at least. D=

Or let's just say you people are out of your freaking minds. Have you ever heard of Hayao Miyazaki? Hideaki Anno? Yeah, I'm giving this thread an automatic FAIL :thumbd:

They don't animate for Pokemon now do they.

I don't know about the Unown but I think Iwane animated the Mach Punch scene, assuming you're referring to the Ash/Paul battle..
Though now that I checked you're right about the Unown episode.

He's referring to the Monferno punching Croconaw animation from the tag battle with Kotone/Kazu, not the Paul battle.

Was that the one with the stereoscoping/camera spinning effect? I guess I just got them mixed up.

I think Iwane's episodes are more dynamic in character's action, but Tamagawa's aren't too far. Well, I still prefer Iwane's a little more.

[QUOTE = Duque?; 1204319] Penso Iwane episodi sono più dinamici in azione personaggio, ma Tamagawa sono non troppo lontano. Beh, io preferisco ancora Iwane un po 'di più. [/ QUOTE]

ME TOO!

Who is an automatic fail for writing Evangelion.

You gotta cut him some slack, he was really depressed at the time. Not that it was an excuse to inflict his depression on us, but...

Anyway, I agree with Kanji. Pokemon is a relatively low-budget anime, being a long-running weekly anime with nearly no breaks. It just can't compare to the big animators. All we can do is compare the different Pokemon animation directors to each other, because they ARE comparable.
