Obsolete Who was the best Beatle?

John, Paul, George and Ringo have all, in their own way, greatly influenced pop music since their days as The Beatles. But which one was the best? In your answer may take into account post-Beatles work.

For me it's Macca. I think he has a wonderful ear for melody and sweetness. I have several of his solo albums and I enjoy them just as much as many of his Beatles work.

Paul, easily. John was a fantastic lyricist, but they were forgettable. Paul's melodies stuck in your mind for ages. I remember my dad was driving me to school when I was 11, and he played Day Tripper. That was the only time I heard it for seven years, and I never forgot the vocal melody or the guitar riff until I heard it again a few months ago. I was just astounded by how the melody had subconsciously embedded itself into my mind for so long.
