Personally, I don't really care about whether which Pokemon Trainer got to represent the franchise, although I have a feeling it would be the 6th Generation protagonist if SSB will be released at about 2014 (most likely). My other guess would be the Generation 3 batch (I choose 2:2).

If Gen III was to get a reamke, it would be Brendan. But even then, choosing the current Player Character is revelant for only 1 generation while Red is instantly recognizeable.

My wish is to have ALL the trainers from each gen and an option to choose any Pokémon. You would unlock the Pokémon by finding them in Poké Balls and such, and would get to choose 3 in each battle. It probably won't be done, but they could at least use all the starter Pokémon.

I know Red will stay due to his debut appearance as a default character in Brawl, so I choose a female trainer to represent the current gen (either Hilda or Leia), because Kakuna Matata told me that Gen IV is already past, so Dawn and Lyra will not make it. Having a female trainer in a SSB game has been my dream because I really want to see a young female beating the snot out of an iconic villain like Ganondorf (and I hope she is voiced by Emily Blaur to make it 20% cooler).
