Why are DS bootlegs so perfect and GBA bootlegs so imperfect?

I'm not quite sure why, but every time you bought a GBA bootleg game you were like "oh god no this sucks I got screwed, it might not save! it might crash!"

But if by chance you get a DS bootleg your like "oh well does it really matter?"

Me and a few friends of mine tested 10 GBA bootlegs and found that only about 70% of them booted up (7/10), and only about 40% of them saved correctly (4/10).

We ran the same test on some DS bootleg games and found that 100% of them booted up (10/10) and that 90% of them saved correctly (9/10).

My question is why is this? Is it because they don't use batteries in the DS bootlegs anymore?

Take in mind that I don't buy bootlegs or support them in any way, most of these I borrowed from friends for testing purposes.

I think it may be so because the DS cartridges are just a lot more stable for some reason. It may have something to do with the whole not using batteries thing.

If I remember correctly.. GBA bootlegs were cheap pieces of garbage. The DS bootlegs are pretty impressive pieces of technology and a bit expensive too. Plus the bootlegs utilize the DS interface, so it's as if the bootlegs are a normal game.

I'm not sure, but I think the DS cartridges are a lot more stable than the GBA ones.
