Why are some usernames crossed out?

I think it means they quit or were banned. I am almost positive this is what it means.
 
Maybe as guests? But can't post. Becuz they're BANNED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
 
Really? Everytime I was banned I tried to sign in and I just got a big grey box telling me why I was banned.

How? When I was banned at SerebiiForums, I couldn't find any way to view threads and whatnot while I was still logged in.
 
A line through their name means that they've been banned. The reason they are on the online users list is because that means that they logged on under that account. Yes, they have no access to the forums, but they are put on to the online users list because they are... online.
