Why Can't I Upload Pictures?

Whenever I try to upload a picture, it always says "This is not a valid image file", even when I resize it. How do you get this to stop?

What type of image is it? Like, what's the extension? 'Image file' might be referring to the type of image it is, not the size...

It's also a matter of how "heavy" the image is. Maybe it's surpassing the limit even if you make it smaller in resolution.

It's a bitmap (bmp) kind of image. Is this kind not allowed? (But, I don't know what 'extension' means ^^;

I don't think BMPs are allowed for uploading.. like Kasumi said, it might be also too big in file size, which makes sense because BMPs are usually pretty large.

I might be wrong about the BMPs not being uploadable though, since I know a lot of uploaders automatically convert them into JPGs.

Okay, so what kind are allowed (Because I also tried doing JPEG/JPG and that didn't work either)?

Yeah, I did make albums, but since the pictures wouldn't get uploaded, I took them down.

Are you doing this on the forums or the gallery? The gallery is still not unlocked for regular members.

Okay, I finally figured out the problem. You have to post PNG files.

Probably the PNG was just small enough to be allowed through. JPG's are allowable, are are GIF's and BMG's. As a rule of thumb, the maximum file size is 1048576 bytes, though you can double that for an animated GIF.
