why didn't brock meet up with ash in unova

i'm a huge fan of brock and was disappointed that he didnt return in black and white i know he met cilan but he didn't see ash, dawn got a few episodes but brock didn't will he appear in xy, any thoughts?

I'm pretty sure Ueda Yuuji (Takeshi's voice actor) didn't appear in Best Wishes! at all until the very last episode so he might not have been available for any cameos.

After 10 years of being followed Ash filed a restraining order preventing Brock from being with in 100 yards of him.

My guess is that they couldn't think of a way to include him into the show for awhile like they did with Dawn, although that wasn't the best of reasons either.

Outside of any headcannon, they probably left him out because a) they didn't have any ideas how to use him or b) they went with the popular sentiment that everyone was kind of sick of the guy.

Did Tracey ever leave Pallet Town to meet up with Ash in a later region? I don't recall, but Max certainly didn't (though the departure of his VA wouldn't have given them much of a choice in that matter).

Right now, it seems to be an accepted tradition that the female companion of the previous generation will meet up with Ash and friends in the current region, but this doesn't seem to apply to male companions, based on the pattern we've had. While a lot of fans are expecting Iris to show up somewhere down the road in Kalos, there's been generally less speculation about Cilan.
