Why didn't Kyle make it to the Grand Festival?

Remember, Kyle, the guy who beat Ash in the Wallace Cup? He beat Ash's Buizel with his Lanturn, and then lost to Dawn in the semi-finals:

Why didn't Kyle make it to the Grand Festival? He was collecting ribbons and he just disappeared.
 
Because he didn't get 5 ribbons?

Seriously, what do you want us to say about a COTD? He never appeared again like Ursula did, so the chances of him appearing in the GF were pretty low.
 
Well, he could have, but just didn't get past the appeals.

He was a major competitor in that tournament, beating Ash of all people, and then losing to Dawn in the semi-finals. Semi-finals, which shows how talented he was.

Most other DP coordinators were introduced the same way, seemingly being a one-shot at first and then re-appearing later on.

That's not really a major accomplishment given the fact that Ash doesn't really participate in contest battles that often.

Yeah, re-appearing later on in contests. Kyle didn't appear in a contest after the Wallace Cup. It isn't surprising at all that he isn't at the GF.
 
Because he is completely interchangeable with the equally bland Kenny, probably.

Wow.

Anyway, it would have been interesting to see Ash battle Dawn in her element if he had defeated Kyle. He would probably have lost given his inexperience in the contest field, but it would have been fun.
 
Kyle could've gone off into another region's GF. The Grand Festival isn't held in just 1 place.
 
Why didn't Rebecca make it? Why didn't Mario?

They don't need to include every coordinator they gave a name to, that's why. Why didn't a whole bunch of Hoenn people find themselves in the GF back in AG? Why didn't a number of Kanto people get shoved into the BF GF?

Tough break, that's what. Kyle wasn't anything special.

Remember when a few people thought the "Kaito" that kept popping up in the summaries was Harley back to get revenge on May since it could translate as "phantom thief"?

Anyway, Kenny's GF outfit was just a copypasta of Kyle's one. Same kind of outfit, same kinda [censored] face (and Kyle face was far better than Kenny's one IMO, since Kenny looks like a Ditto to me)

And Kyle could very well be a coordinator coming from another region, like May did. However, I must confess that i looked for his face on the GF appeal round qualified people screen.
