Why do all Dub Title Cards only features Ash?

Seriously in the Original Japanese version it features whoever the episodes focuses on and in the dub, it's always Ash.
 
This reminds me of how in past series, in Japan, the intro would update whenever a Pokémon on Ash's team changed, but in the US, it never did. ._.
 
I Don't KNOW WHY they DON'T Change it but I Find it VERY LAZY on TPCI's part because I REALLY LIKED it when it showed whoever it was Focused on, but I can Live with it
 
Personally I think it's just TPCi being lazy, and from the work they've been doing with the dub, it's very likely. I do like Ash on the title cards though, but all the time is a little annoying and unfair for Serena, Bonnie, and Clemont.
 
Did TPCi ever update the cards for the Battle Frontier whenever Ash defeated one of the Brains?
 
I don't understand why this is such a big deal. The obvious reason is probably because TPCi finds the idea of changing the title screen every time tedious (My theory is that the title screens aren't textless on the master copies of each episode, and TPCi has separate copies of all the textless title screens that they have to insert into each episode manually). They were doing it at first, but at some point decided to just use Ash's version.

Personally, I don't really care about this. It's just a title card that's on the screen for ten seconds, and Ash's face on the right-hand side for about three seconds. This decision doesn't change the episodes in anyway, so why should it matter?
 
It is a neat little perk that the Original Version does, but I don't lose any sleep because the dub doesn't include it. The dub has cut so many things out of their airings and such, I feel like this is another victim of that. Like Meowsic said earlier, it really doesn't change much, quality wise:p
 
I saw episode 9 of the dub and I remember Clemont being on the right side of the title screen.
 
I think that the problem people have with this is that they have used other characters on the title card, like with Clemont or Bonnie, but they often just default back to Ash for some reason. Personally, it doesn't bother me. It's a nice touch to have different characters for the title card and defaulting back to Ash is kind of lazy, but it's not enough to get me upset.
 
I'd rather they keep the original music than update the title cards tbh
 
I imagine TPCi have decided to just use one default title card, rather than go to the trouble of finding out which one is appropriate and inserting that one instead... I guess it's just two minutes they'd rather spend inserting dub music.
 
It could be laziness... or it could be another example of the anime rubbing Ash in our faces and never taking him away. Considering what happened to Misty, Brock, Tracey, May, Max, Dawn, Iris and Cilan, and Serena, Clemont and Bonnie (as well as all future companions) being guarantied to have the same fate, it's likely this change is to prevent us from "connecting" with them too much, while at the same time trying to force us to "connect" with Ash even more.

I'm actually quite surprised that even Pikachu is getting replaced in the dub, despite the anime rubbing him in our faces, too!

At least the changes in the dub have been downplayed from the changes nearly 20 years ago, when they added too much American culture into the dub. Even I thought it was an American cartoon like The Simpsons and Futurama until I was around 15 years old. The anime may be different from before, and might even become a preschoolers show in no times (fingers crossed it never happens), but at least they are now being more faithful to the Japanese dub than before.
 
Is it really that important, though? It's just a little extra before the episode, it surely has no bearing on the episode itself.
 
For me I think it's a big deal for one reason only. People must get tired of having to conform to TPCi even with the little things like this. I don't know how many of hundreds of North American Pokemon fans have contacted or tried to contact them about the dub edits, but even so I don't want to bow down and let them think even the smallest change (other than the opening which they have to change) is acceptable thus giving them the delusion that they're doing a good job not sticking as close to the original version as possible in North America. I know they've done this before, but after all this time why not act like a brat and claim entitlement from them.

I don't think it's laziness, but rather Cartoon Network messing things up, much like they did with the Adventures in Unova intros. I believe the network is in charge of puttting the episode titles nowadays since they take care of translating it into different languages for Europe, not TPCi itself. The same thing happens with the season logo and credits during the intro. You can tell it's not TPCi doing the translation for all other dubs because if that were the case, the translated credits and episode titles would have the same font as the US one.

It is definitely laziness, there is absolutely no other reason for them to do that, it's simply easier constantly use the same title card rather than "bother" editing the others or checking out which one should be inserted every time

They're getting a complete ready to air video, they're not responsible for things like that at all...

Why would they do that? They're not producing the show, they're just airing it...

Where did you get that from? Back in the old days when 4Kids handled the show, they just sold the seasons to channels around the world and these channels would then send it to whatever dubbing studio they chose to do the dubbing job for them... ever since TPCi took over, they've been gradually taking control over it completely, although they don't really do the translation/dubbing/editing process themselves... DuArt is producing the English dub for them while TPCi works with SDI Media to produce them the different language dubs for pretty much every non-English dub that airs nowdays
So no, CN has absolutely nothing to do with any of these decisions... they're just airing it, that's all

That's a.... very odd statement... you can't decide who handled it based on the chosen font. But then again, TPCi isn't really producting any of the dubs by themselves... DuArt is producing the English dub, while SDI Media is responsible for the rest
