Hontou ni mou New thread is here and it is about why do you think Paul Lost to Ash in Hisui Fights I mean Pokémon League?

For me is because he is so smart and ash is pathetic and so predictable so he lit 2 of his Pokemons lost to Ash. In reality You should say I am So stupid and ash is not predictable.

But in reality I am still not satisfied to much because ash lost 6-2 and win by depending on range blaze but still win 6-5.

I am still see his as better character than losing to Cameron Trip and the worst Iris

Story-wise it was the most logical thing to do. Ash was preparing to beat Paul's tactical style with hard work and trust in his Pokemon (specially Infernape) so even if he couldn't win the league he still could put up a fight against such a strong rival.

In-universe-wise it also made sense. Ash had a lot of experience understanding Paul's battle style and his Pokemon also had accumulated experience through his travels. Even if Paul had new weapons, Ash was confident enough as to know how to overcome them and it showed in the strategies he used.

Paul lost to Ash at the Sinnoh League because he didn't use more of the pokémon that helped him destroy Ash in their first full battle. Ash never beat his Torterra, Honchkrow, Magmortar, or Gliscor. It required either a group effort or Hax Blaze to defeat Ursaring. Electivire stopped the referee from declaring Infernape unable to battle after it fell to the ground and it was like that for several seconds. Despite Paul sacrificing both his Aggron and Gastrodon to scout Ash's team it was still very close and Ash ended up winning by the skin of his teeth. Ash vs Paul should've been in the finals and ultimately ending Ash's story here.

Perhaps Paul wasn't using his best Pokemon, but it's also true that Ash wasn't using his best either. After all, in the same way that Paul made a conscious choice not to use Torterra or Magmortar, Ash also made a conscious choice not to use Charizard or Snorlax when he easily could have. In Ash's case, it's because he wanted to provide his Sinnoh team with catharsis after losing badly to Paul at Lake Acuity. In Paul's case, it's probably because he underestimated Ash after crushing him at Lake Acuity.

I'm pretty sure a lot of people including myself would've preferred seeing them both use their biggest powerhouses. Paul was shown on more than one occasion watching Ash's battles during the preliminary rounds where he used reserves like Heracross, Quilava, Noctowl and Snorlax. This was why Paul used Aggron/Gastrodon to scout Ash's team.
