I'm just wondering what your motivation is for watching Pokemon. What drives you to watch this bizarre children's show?
For me, it's always been the Pokemon. I just enjoy seeing the Pokemon in action, and I love the battles. Also, a little bit for Team Rocket.

I don't know why I watch. I guess because I HAVE been watching, and I'm interested to see what happens.

For general enjoyment, though I like some of the characters too.

I don't watch the show that often, to be honest... it's always on at Stupid o' clock. I try to keep up with the Japanese episodes, but I often get bored halfway through, or download them and never get around to watching them until my C drive begins to run out of space. So maybe in part I just watch the show to keep up with the fandom. But mainly it's for the humour/Team Rocket (the two are usually one and the same ;)). In AG, though, I was watching for Drew and Harley, pretty much.

I watch it because it gets my mind of things, and like Habunake said, it's a way of unwinding and relaxing.

I watch it because its great.

I'm also buying the whole series on DVD of what's been out so far, and I even have the Johto DVDs despite that saga being my least favorite of the show. (Mostly because there are a few gems scattered in the pile)

Because I'm terrified at the thought of actually getting older and am trying desperatly to cling to anything that would gives me the feeling of being a naive little boy instead of the teenage guy I'm shaping out to be who in just a couple years be away from home and nuclear family on a regular basis.

And, you know, just oughta tradition. ^^

Honestly, I don't know why I watch the show. I remember when it first came out I was terrified of it because I thought I would get a seizure if I watched it. But, that turned out not to be the case.

Well, I don't watch the Japanese version.

However, I've been a HUGE fan of the dub ever since it first started airing. So yes, I have a strong attachment to the dub version of Pokemon. I love the show, and I don't think I could ever stop watching it.

Anyway though, I watch Pokemon for many reasons.

Though, I guess it depends on which version of the dub you're talking about.

And since you didn't specify, I'll list my reasons for watching both dubs. ^_^

For Battle Frontier, or rather the Pokemon USA dub, I've only been watching it because:

- the storyline

- the music

- the humor

- my attachment to the show itself, having watched it since the beginning

For the most part, I seem to be watching BF because of the storyline and my attachment to the dub.

However, with the 4Kids dub, I watch it because of the following reasons:

- I love Ash

- the voice acting (and that's in bold for obvious reasons)

- I like to see the human characters achieve their goals/storyline of the anime

- the music

- it makes me very happy, and it always gives me a special kind of feeling whenever I watch the show

- the humor

- my attachment to the show itself, having watched it since the beginning

There you have it.

I have 7 reasons for watching the 4Kids dub, and I only have 4 reasons for watching the Pokemon USA dub.

Now don't get the wrong idea guys. I'm not trying to start up a Pokemon USA/4Kids debate (please no, not another flamewar).

I just really wanted to point that out, so everyone would know that I enjoy watching the 4Kids dub a lot more than I enjoy the Pokemon USA dub.

I watch it for the amusement. Lately, it has also been a good source of English version info. I think that function has ended for a while, though.

I love the characters, the music is some of the best I've heard in a kid's show, and the Pokemon themselves are often very cute or very cool to watch... especially ones with personalities!
I love the movies' plots and main Pokemon and the music's usually even BETTER.
I just love the show to bits! It's my favorite anime. And it gives me something to look forward to every week.
And the goofy animation in some of the episodes is the funniest thing, especially in Iwane fillers. xD
And the Roketto-dan. And Harley. And Haruka and Shuu and Masato and Hikari and Kasumi! LOVE them all.
Kojiro, Musashi, and Nyasu are just so much FUN! And Musashi's my most favorite character~.
I guess I just have horrible taste because I adore this series so much and don't think of it ALL as the most horribly-written crap in the world of anime. Seriously people, watch more anime and then you'll find there's some REAL stinkers that deserve to be called the crappiest.

And it's just very very cute.

Umm I guess because I have allways liked pokemon. It kinda brings me back to a simpler time. I also enjoy watching shippy stuff and seeing how the characters kinda evolve over time.

I loved the show as a kid, and even today it's still kind of interesting, since I still like the games. I'm not a big fan of TV though.

Now that I'm in the process of learning Japanese, watching the show in Japanese is so useful at learning new vocabulary and practicing my listening skills. I'm amazed at how much I can grasp.

Because its funny to laugh at it when something really important is happening (like a gym battle) because its just one huge advertisement.
And it makes a good one at that.
