Pokefans, why do you watch the anime?

I watch it because it's the only thing on that's interesting on at 9:00 am.

Also because it has James. If you don't think that James is awesome than screw you.

I watch if to see the pokemon themselves in animation. That's it, really. It's just nice to see a portrayl of their lives and fighting prowess through something other than static sprites. Though considering the amount of pokemon that only show up once it a blue moon, it's sometimes an irksome pursuit.

If there's a Team Rocket episode, I'll watch it purely for their antics, since they're actually entertaining characters.

I only watch random episodes. If it involves Ash catching a Pokèmon I like, one of them evolves, or a Pokèmon I like appear.
Or if only, come across a plot on Bulbapedia that I like.
Also I tend to skip scenes with Team Rocket digging holes or doing other repeated plots if I can:p

I love how it is not a serious anime, and you don't always have to concentrate while watching it. And I like colorful, bright stuff. (I'm such a kid. :D) But if it wasn't for the Rocket-dan, I probably wouldn't watch it... For me, they're the best part of the show.

Cuz I've watched it since I was five and old habits die hard? xD

But seriously. It's an amazing show. It's just pure fun and like Meron said, you don't always have to concentrate on what's happening NOW. It's pretty easy to catch up if you've missed something (whereas with anime shows like Ghost in the Shell, if you so much as blink, chances are you missed something! D:). Just everything I think. <3

I don't. I'm basically in this board for caption the screenshots =P

Because it's so hilarious it's pretty much the highlight of the week to me.
There are barely any characters on the show I don't like and I generally just love the dynamic of everyone and each of their funny little quirks.

I guess I may as well add that being an Ash-fan also inclines me to watch solely to see what crazy antics he's up to (and also his awesome/psycho moments). Everyone else is just a bonus, really.

It's addictive, i cant help it lol. especially the humour that Team Rocket brings haha. Yeah and its been my favourite show for ages, since i was little.

The nostalgia factor of both playing the video games and watching the anime on TV as a small child, perhaps?

Pokefans, why do you watch the anime?

Short answer: it still entertains me.

Long answer: The characters still engage me; the plots, while often predictable, surprise me every now and then; the humor can still make me LOL, and even the running jokes manage to keep finding new variations. There's also a social aspect in sharing the experience with others here. :)

I watch because I just never grew out of it. xD It still entertains me and I enjoy watching it.
I also love all the characters, especially Team Rocket. And it's cool to see what all the Pokemon and their attacks look like in the anime.

Even though I mainly watch the episodes that have recently aired in Japan, I'll watch the dub sometimes too. I watch because of... well... I guess the characters.

Because I love it, pure and simple.

I suppose nostalgia plays a role somewhat, as Pokemon was a huge part of my childhood and I always get really nostalgic and all warm inside whenever I watch the older episodes. But even at seventeen years old I still love this show to death. I love the characters, the overall plot, the background music, everything.

Pokemon is just an amazing show, and I'll love it till the day I die.

Because it's different than most other fantasy shows in terms of concept and idea. I mainly like it because it revolves around another "world" and that world is unbelievably fleshed out. That just makes it all the more impressive. That's why I liked Digimon to an extent too.

Mainly the character interaction among the main cast and rivals, and the actual battles.

There is also character development in Pokemon, contrary to popular belief, and its nice to see how the personalities of the main cast change over the years. Almost every character has changed since their debut episode.

I watch most episodes of the anime, but I tend to skip some if they get too boring or if they aren't serious enough.
