Why does Beedril usually have an antagonistic role to Ash and his friends?

I've noticed that Beedrill are rarely used by trainers in the anime in a friendly battle . I don't even see Beedril helping people. They are usually seen attacking Ash and his friends or used by bad people. Why is that?

This is why.

Kenta's Beedrill in Legend of Thunder would like to say Hi.

Though I think that is the only one. Sadly it seems more like an exception than the norm.

Could say the same of Ursaring and Scolipede. But both Casey and Jimmy had Beedrill, I also remember Ash finishing a battle against a trainer's Beedrill at the begining of the episode where Zizagoon made its first major apperence.

Because they're "evil" counterparts to Butterfree line. Just like Spearow and Pidgey lines.

irredeemable IRL
Wasps and hornets, sure. They sting indefinitely, they can potentially kill, especially in swarms. And they steal honey. Bees, not so much. They sting once, they die; it's basically a useless suicide attack. And they provide honey for us, thus they are an asset. A number of wasps and bees serve an ecological role as pollinators, but honeybees have a lot more positives going for them in human society for being livestock and more Neutral than Chaotic Neutral.

Spear are basically Pokemon's equivalent of Asian Giant Hornets, which have killed and injured many humans with their potent venom, only the Pokemon has spears for stingers on top of that. Fuck that shit.
