Is'nt Zoey and Johanna's Glameow really strong..
Why don't they evolve.. Did both of them give an everstone or what?
:uhoh:

Re: A big question

because they chose not to evolve?

Because the writers didn't want them too?

There's a lot of answers.

Maybe sometimes but it would be more powerful if it is Purugaly. It would be fat and disgusting. that maybe a point.

Re: A big question

1. Who WOULD want to evolve their Glameow?
2. These are CONTESTS!!! Not gym battles. Contest mostly show off a Pokemon's beauty and elegance. Not strength.

Because Mars already had a Purugly and it worked better for the coordinators to have elegant Glameow?

There's not any definite answer to this. But Glameow just seems to fit better for them, in my opinion.

1 logical explanation: the writers probably wanted to maintain the grace that the Glameow possess in a contest.

Probably because they choose not to evolve like many Pokemon. Besides they might do better in contests as Glameow then Purugly

Well actually Contests aren't always about showing of how beautiful and elegant a Pokemon is. You found this out from Brock in the Sandalstraw Contest during an appeal from Kenny's Machoke.

Then again that shouldn't be surprising as in the games the types of categories there are in Contests are- Beauty, Cute, Tough, Cool and Smart. I think it's nice to see the anime pick another category from this other than Beauty and Cute when showing a Contest appeal in the anime. And I know there has been more.

Why hasn't Pikachu evolved yet? Or Piplup?
Trainers' first pokemon rarely evolve and maintain their forms. Since Glameow is Zoey's first pokemon, either she wants to keep it as a Glameow or Glameow itself does not want to evolve.

You try winning a contest with that fat blob! Of course they'd choose to continue being Glameow!

Thinking about it now, I wouldn't have minded if they made a contest episode of someone trying to enter with a Purugly or something similar. The episode would have the vibe that every Pokemon is important and that none should be left out of contests.

Who would want to evolve their faboulous kitties into fat smug ugly maid cats?

Like everyone else said, ugliness, in other words, non-marketability of Purugly.

Kawaii kitties=money.

Now for one bigger question, why didn't that Jenny with Stunky evolved her Stunky into a Skuntank? Because of it's huge goblin nose?
