Ash Ketchum is known to be one of the dumbest Pokémon trainers to ever exist...besides Cameron.
LONG RANT AHEAD!
Now first of all, please don't take me as some brain dead, immature, 12 year old keyboard warrior a$$hole for sounding the way i sound when typing this. Also already know that Ash is a FICTIONAL character so in a way this is ranting towards the anime writers. Also i've already seen EVERY Pokémon episode in the anime (English dub at least) so I know what I'm talking about when I say this but...
WHY??!! Why is Ash such an idiot?!
My brain can't process on how dumb he can be sometimes. Now...don't get me wrong, he's a fantastic trainer in terms of kindness, love, friendliness & confidence. He's knows and stands up for Pokémon and their rights whenever their being neglected by bad people. But his trainer rate goes from a 10 to 0 when it comes to skill and strategy. Yeah sure he does come up with some pretty badass strategies most of the time when battling but COMPLETELY falls on his face when it comes to training his Pokémon.
One of the BIGGEST example is his Pikachu. Sigh...EVOLVE YOUR DAMN PIKACHU ALREADY!!!
Sorry but you know it's true. Pikachu needs to evolve and yes I also know Pikachu doesn't want to evolve and I'm not one for forcing Pokémon to do things they don't want to do but my Arceus, things could be SO MUCH easier for him plus it would make those frequent IMPOSSIBLE in the video games victories that happen in the anime feel more believable if he'd evolve Pikachu.
And this also goes out to all his other what...40 somethin' Pokémon at Prof Oak's Lab. I know most of them have evolved but I mean fully evolve ALL his Pokémon plus why not rotate all your Pokémon from time to time. Go back back and use Pokémon from his past journeys through different regions.
Him also talking about "Evolution doesn't only matter." And "If you believe you can win." type of stuff annoys me to no end. Believing, hope, and faith doesn't matter when for example, your Bulbasaur is Lv 29 going up against a Lv 50 Ursaring it's FACT that Bulbasaur won't win same with other battles like that plain and simple. Speaking of Pokémon levels...WHY THE F*CK does Pikachu resets back to Lv 5 every new journey (looking at you writers.) making any character development practically impossible since Ash also forgets 85% of what he's learned in his passed journeys every NEW journey.
May seem like I'm ranting about the anime but this is solely focused on Ash Ketchum.
Moving forward...Long post I know. =)
Why is Ash an idiot? that's I want to know. I can COMPLETELY understand his newbie-ness in season 1 - Indigo League. but NOW?! It's also been 17 or 18 years since the anime started (if I'm correct) and yet Ash is at the same level of skill despite being on many journeys and adventures!!!!!!!!! (head explodes)
Anyways. Thoughts, feelings, opinions or whatever. Agree with me? Great! Disagree? That's great too!
