Why is Bulbapedia not working?

It keeps on sending '' Error 503 Backend fetch failed'' whenever I click on a link.

Edit: Can this be moved to Bulbawiki Forums? I accidentally thought that this is the place.

because amazon web services was down as well (might still be?) which consequently affected the wiki. there's nothing on our end to fix; aws issues need to be resolved first.

Nothing to apologise for! It's a bit of a difficult thing and a lot of things are down right now (or at least were before), even a lot of the platforms my uni uses LOL. I'm glad you felt comfortable enough to ask what was going on ~

I know this is not in anyone here's control, but I hope Bulbapedia comes back up soon... I use it a lot to double-check stuff for my fics, so flying blind like this is a little stressful っ °Д °っ

While yes, the AWS issues itself have been resolved, the technical staff has found some database errors due to the outage's lingering effects. The database is being repaired and its just taking a lot of time to process since there's a lot of data.

Bulbapedia has been experiencing ongoing performance issues and intermittent downtime following an AWS outage earlier this week. Our technical staff has identified database errors contributing to slow response times and site instability. Work is actively underway to repair and optimize the database to restore normal performance.
