Why it's okay that Serena is not following Ash to Alola

Well..put it into perspective. Do you think that Serena would pass on a promising career to become Kalos queen to follow Ash to Alola

How would she fit into the story. Ash is going to school now, I don't want Serena to go with him to just be there.

You have to think about these things. I like Serena as a character. She's my second favorite travelling companion besides Misty. But I also don't want her to travel with him just for the by sake of amourshipping. How would she fit into the story, and how well would she fit
