Terrakion, Cobalion, Virizion... and Keldeo. Keldeo seems to stand out amongst the Musketeers, for multiple reasons.

NOW I HAVE ONE THAT'S NEVER BEEN BROUGHT UP BEFORE!!!

Terrakion is based off of an ox or a water buffalo. Cobalion is based off a markhor. Virizion is based off a gerenuk. Keldeo is based off a horse. There you have it. Terrakion, Cobalion, and Virizion are all based off of even-toed ungulates, while poor Keldeo is based off an odd-toed ungulate. The two groups are not necessarily related evolutionarily. Terrakion, Cobalion, and Virizion are more closely related to each other than to Keldeo. So he's excluded in many ways.
Makes you kinda feel sorry for him.

By the way, why does Bouffalant, which is based off a bison (an even-toed ungulate), has one hoof per foot? It should have two.

I think it's simply because pokemon doesn't pay that much attention to detail. You know how many insect pokemon only have four legs? Alot of them, and none of the arachnids (which is only three lines) have eight legs. I personally just grin and bear it for the most part; how many video games have animals and plants as player characters anyway? Very few, and pokemon may have the best diversity which is why it's one of the best games in the world. :)

I went and checked, and out of 66 bug types, only ten have the right amount of legs. (Assuming Shelmet and Accelgor having no legs at all is the proper amount, though tbh idk WHAT accelgor is supposed to be o-o") I think we can conclude that nintendo does not give a crap about proper realistic morphology. But that's not necessarily a horrible thing, it's just a bit of artistic license. :>

Well as a biology geek, stuff like this catches my eye. It was just a point which hasn't really been brought up before.

And as a fellow biology geek, I can identify. Actually the thing about the muskedeers is very interesting, I know very very little about vertebrates, and ungulates in particular, so this is news to me. What I'm saying is that this game is probably the wrong place to look for proper morphology in animals. xD

Frankly i just refer to them as the 'legendary My Little Ponies'. It's not like you wouldn't know what i mean. P.s. i'm not a fan of MLP
