Once Pokkén Tournament DX has become commercially successful, I just wanting to know why you don't think that its sequel will not be rated "Mature" by the ESRB or contain Blood and Gore, Intense Violence (with all KO'ing moves and burst attacks replaced by killing and destroying moves and Pokétalities*, including deadly, horror, illegal and realistic weapon attacks), Mature Humor, Nudity, Simulated Gambling, Strong Language and Lyrics (including rude gestures used for victory poses, plus original music replaced by Parental Advisory: Explicit Content-labeled alternative, indie, punk, hard and rap rock, metal and hip-hop music in all battle stages), Strong Sexual Content, and Use of Drugs, Alcohol and Tobacco?

*The word "PokéTalities" originates as portmanteau for "Pokémon" and "fatalities".

what is this I don't even....

No, seriously. That opening post is so out of left field that it defies comprehension.

First, before you ask us to justify why any Pokken 2 would "not" get a Mature rating, you have to lay forth a reason that it should deserve that rating in the first place. You can't ask for a counter argument or rebuttal if you haven't established the argument to be countered or rebutted in the first place. Burden of proof is on you.

Personally, I doubt there will be a "Pokken 2" any time soon. Even then, I doubt it would even get anything necessitating a T rating, let alone M. Pokemon games are targeted at the "all ages" bracket as part of their branding.

As far as I know, none of Nintendo's own franchises have any M rated games.

An M rated Pokken would completely fuck up Nintendo's and the Pokémon franchise's reputation beyond repair.

Finally, what gameplay element would be added to the game by turning Pokken into a Mortal Kombat clone?

I'm half inclined to wonder if the original was a bot post, because that description of the M rating looks as if it was copypasted directly from the ESRB website. But regardless.

Finally, what gameplay element would be added to the game by turning Pokken into a Mortal Kombat clone?
If anything, it would be a Tekken clone. Wait...

@thomaswiencek I get what you're trying to say, but the way your worded this is confusing as all heck. Pokémon has never been that type of game as those things you mentioned will never get past Nintendo's strict family-friendly policies.

Also, another thing to consider with this topic: Pokkén doesn't even need to rely on such mature content. People have wanted a Pokémon fighting game for a long time, and the thing about Pokémon is that they don't need to rely on stuff like weapons and drugs in order to fight: they're super-powered animals who can survive under very stressful conditions because they only "faint" when defeated. That's the basis and appeal of Pokémon: adorable and/or cool-looking creatures duking it out without killing each other.

Adding drugs and blood would really just come out of the left-field and would really serve no purpose in Pokkén other than to just make things more "edgy". Franchises getting darker or more mature doesn't always make things better *looks at Ren and Stimpy: Adult Party Cartoon and shivers*. It's better if a potential Pokkén sequel keeps the formula as-is since people seem to like it a lot in its current state.
