Before I get into my topic, let me first say that:
1) I wasn't 100% sure where to post this if this post is even welcome, so mods, if you have to delete or move, please go ahead.

2) I'm posting this because I'd love to do this myself, but I don't have the time or skills necessary to devote to the task, and thus I felt like a good idea was going to waste, and thus I decided to share my idea.

Ok, so I'm not a competitive battler (yet) so I don't know much about leagues and who has them, outside of the fact that smogon is very important.

But One day the thought came to my head that there should be an anime-style Wi-Fi league.

So basically, anyone can join, and you have to beat the X# of gym leaders/ collect so many points before you can challenge the current champion.
You would also need to register you Pokémon before you use them, but I'll get into that in just a second. (Or 30 minutes from now depending on how fast you read)

For example, Trainer Dick joins the league. To join he creates a profile with whatever name he wants to use, and his in game name and gender.
Before he can do any battling he must to register the Pokémon he plans to use in the league, by adding each individual Pokémon on his profile. He can choose to put as little or as much information as he wishes, but he has to AT LEAST give the species. However, if he likes he can give the species, nature, level, attacks, EVs, IVs, and so on.

Now, say Dick wants to just battle any member. He can simply PM a current league member requesting a battle, with whatever rules he wants, and the PMee, can choose to accept or decline the battle. For battling, Dick gains 2 points + XX points for winning, based upon the rank of the loser. (EX. Dick battles and wins against Jane, Jane is an 8 badge holder, and so Dick gains 8 points in addition to the 2 points for battling)
The system is set up like this so that anyone can progress in the league, even if they never win.

To challenge a Gym, no points are required, and you are awarded points based upon the difficulty of the gym. The gyms would be set up in this fashion:

4 easy gyms (the bug type will almost certainly go here)
These 4 gyms are so that beginning members can gain
points quickly. You can't challenge the gym after you
win once. 3 Pokémon

17 (49?) Regular gyms (1{2?} for every type)
These are the regular gyms, and will likely be the most
challenged. These gym leaders are restricted by type,
and can only use Pokémon that have the type of the
gym. Tournaments would be held to acquire these
positions. The numbers listed in the parentheses are if
there are so many challenges that the leader can't
fulfill them all. A second (or third I guess) gym of the
same type would be opened. 3-6 Pokémon (challenger
decides)

and 10 hard gyms (these are not restricted by type, but instead a theme)
These gyms are based upon a theme chosen by the leader.
(Example, high HP, rain dance, UU, a move, etc) These
gyms would award 25 points each. The leader must use
the same theme, although different Pokémon can be
used. 3-6 Pokémon (Leader decides)

And then there’s the Champion. The Champion is the member who has the most badges and points. Defeating the champion means you gain 50 points, plus however many points he has. (if he has 100 points, you gain 150 points. You need the same number of badges as the champion to challenge him/her

There could also be bi-weekly tournaments organized 2-4 weeks in advance with some sort of prize.

The Prizes

The prize would vary depending on who's defeated, but leaders would give 1 IV Pokémon, and the Hard leaders and Champion would give a legend or an EV&IV'd Pokémon

So at the end of the day it's a Pokémon league that sort of like a MySpace/ profile site. I had a picture (read screen-shot) of the Indigo League episode that showed what I wanted the trainer profile to look like, but I can't seem to locate it.

I think that about covers everything, so...yeah. Ask questions/ discuss:shy: as you please

...And if I haven't expressed anything new, please just tell me and don't flame me plz. / Thanks:)

It does sounds like a great idea, but perhaps a little similar to the IPGL?

I like the idea of regular tourneys though =)

IPGL? Wassat?

Tournaments? Yeah, I guess I left that out.
A tournament every other week.
But the theory in moving away from being tournament based was that it be easier to progress in the league. I'd love to participate in a tournament, but it just never works out as far as timing and stuff. :(
So that's what I was thinking with that.

the only good part about this post was the word dick
needs more long wriggly tentacool dick inside my tight ass pulsing and wriggling filling my stomach with tentacool babies of semen mmmmmm

@hugetentacoolcock
I used the name "Dick" as in "Dick and Jane".
...For some reason I feel like you're really immature :S

@Improv
Ahh, okay. IPGL looks great and fun.
The only issue I have is that there aren't many challengers, and it doesn't seem to be promoted on BG at all.

My thought with my idea was that it'd be a league independent of BGF or PC or any other large pokemon parent site.
Then again, you have to start somewhere.

When I get a chance I'll likely go battle over there.
