Which Pokémon movies were available in Widescreen in North America?

I have Pokémon 4Ever with a 16:9 aspect ratio, so I was wondering if the other Miramax movie were also.

I also must say that it didn't come with the Suicune card.

If you're wondering where I got it, it was at blockbuster. I was kinda mad when my mom showed me and said it was only in widescreen because that's all they had left.

None of the movies released in the US have been released in widescreen. They've all been fullscreen.

Maybe you got a Canadian DVD? An Australian DVD (and a region-free player to play it on)? A bootleg DVD?

Canadian DVDs are usually the same thing as American DVDs, except some have French tracks when the American version didn't.

I was just watching, and I'm not exactly sure if it's 16:9, but it's widescreen, even though the Trivia Game's clips and the short are fullscreen.

The bootleg thing sounds probable because it didn't come with a card, but then how did it get into Blockbuster?

What does the packaging say? Does the printing look blurry or amateurish? Is there a "Region Free" logo anywhere on the disc? Are all the appropriate logos (Nintendo, Miramax, 4Kids) accounted for? Are there any weird logos that look out of place?

I believe the first three (or perhaps only the first two) movies in Japan came on widescreen DVDs They also have English dubs on them. I really wish all the later movies did this too, although understandably they can't unless they re-release them.

Well, I'll start.

All Miramax DVDs have double-sided flappy-inside-the-plastic papery things, and the logo on the side is usually twice, with the Ash picture in the middle on my 5-7 DVDs, this one isn't. It also says it is distributed by Alliance Atlantis, but it has a small Miramax logo on the bottom of the back side of the case.

It doesn't even have French tracks like other movies, particularly Miramax Pokémon movies, do.

It has the copyright thing for Nintendo and everythign in really small letters n the backside. The widescreen thing was also a round purple sticker I peeled off years ago. The DVD disc itself looks kinda zoomed in and not that artistic.

I'll want to get around to ripping the ISO one of these days and scan the case when I have the right materials to do those things.

OH! I JUST NOTICED! It says "Aspect Ratio: Fullscreen 1:33:1" on the back cover in small print on the bottom! It must be copied!

It also wants me to stop video piracy for some reason...

The Australian 4Ever DVD can be identified thus:

1. 16:9
2. Single layer
3. Pikachu's Pikaboo missing
4. German audio track and subtitles

I heard Pikachu's Peekaboo was after the movie on the Australian disc, after the credits, on some forum a couple years.

If Australian DVD is the same as German (which I think is), then no, it isn't. My cousin have it and Zhenlin's description fits perfectly on it. Plus it have both, Region 2 and 4.

Full Screen on a Widescreen Monitor = Ewwwww.

The US release is like totally gross because it's only in Full Screen, and If you like play it on a HDTV, then it won't look good. =(

Well, hopefully the movie 9 DVD will keep widescreen like it's CN airing is apparently doing, but stay alert all the same.

The thing is, most people haven't widescreen monitors and HDTV - that's how they think... weird thing is that they do that in US, while in Poland, where it just started becomingh popular (but still not really popular) we got movies 2 and 3 in widescreen.

Movie 2 might actually be good in Widescreen...it's the only one I saw in Widescreen other than my 4Ever, because it's the only movie my parents took me to.

Movie 1'd be cool too.

As i said, m1 here was 4:3, so i assume all countries that got it from 4kids have this version.

Someone would have to play with Japanese DVDRip ;-)

Some time ago I've seen first movie on Austrian TV ORF 1 and prety much to my surprise they aired it in widescreen. It was first (and unfortunately last) time I've seen it in widescreen.
And yes, it were in german dub done through 4Kids version. And I think (even though I can't confim this) that they released it in 4:3 on DVD, just like in rest of Europe.

Hopefully #PM will do another disc like the Lucario movie, only for the first movie.
