Wifi help needed!

Does anyone know if/where you can get a something cheap to plug into your computer that allows you to trade/battle on wifi without having to buy one of those really expensive wireless routers?

I'm pretty sure if you have wireless internet you can use wifi or if you go to a hotspot where they have wireless ie, some Starbucks somewhere

Should cost around $30 and works for both the Wii and the DS. I've got one and it works perfectly for both.
