I know I've heard of a product like this, both somewhere on Nintendo.com and even in the instruction manual for the DS Lite itself. Supposedly, there is a device that you enables you to plug your DS into the USB port of your computer, and in doing so, let you use your computer's WiFi directly (instead of searching for a hotspot with the DS, which isn't as strong).

Has anyone else heard of this? If so, where could I get such a device? I've found devices that plug into a computer's USB port to charge a DS, but I couldn't find any mention of whether or not you could use it for WiFi capabilities.

Heard of it? I have one! I'm using it right now. I believe they were discontinued though, so your best bet would be Ebay or another only shop. Although I warn you, they don't work with all kinda of wireless/broadband/internet providers.

Do they work with Macs? My main incentive in trying to get one of these is so that I'm not completely cut off from WiFi up at my college.

Ahh, man...I really don't want to go to Ebay...

I'm not sure, as I use Windows, I don't think they cover MAC's, however I may be wrong..

I think there's a "hack" for them to work on Macs; it's really just a couple drivers you need. And yes, that's the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection USB Adapter, it works with DS Phat, Lite, i and i XL.

Iirc, they were discontinued because of some company that felt the need to not shut their mouths.

Just to clarify, are these what I'm looking for? If so, how do I know if it's compatible on a Mac?
