I've already talked about the game here, but for those of you who don't know, Final Fantasy IV The After - The Return of the Moon is a Japan-only cellphone RPG that serves as a sequel to 1991's Final Fantasy IV.

Well...it looks like the ESRB has rated "Final Fantasy IV - The After Years," a game that, based on the ESRB's description, is this cellphone game ported over to Nintendo's WiiWare service.

No word of a release date or a price or a release schedule (the original cellphone game was released in episodic installments...will the WiiWare version be released the same way?). But the idea of players in the West finally being able to enjoy this title is really quite awesome.

Anyone planning on picking this up?

Oh sweet. I'll totally pick this up assuming I ever get my wifi working again.

I happy to hear that we'll be getting Final Fantasy IV: The Return of the Moon here in the States. It's defiantly going to be a game, I'm going to want to check out.

No thanks, FFIV ended for me when the game itself ended.

But you really shouldn't write off a sequel just because you felt that the first game had a proper conclusion. I'm finding the new characters and the new storylines fitting in quite nicely with the world presented to us in the first game.

And now we have for real for real confirmation. And our first English screenshot:

Thanks for the update Dogasu, especially the screen shot. Now I’m really excited for this game. Can’t wait.

Now I have to go out and buy the DS remake of FFIV, then download and play this. Oh, world, why do you hate me having money?

Re: "Final Fantasy IV - The Return of the Moon" is coming to North America

I got 2000 Wiipoints just for this, and apparently Secret of Mana. But really, Square Enix said other players can join, yet Nintendo says FF IV: The After Years is 1 player.

When did they ever say it was multiplayer?

I've already played like half the game in Japanese, so the English version gives me that "been there, done that" feeling. Still, it's neat to see how they translate certain things and what changes are being made between the cell phone version and the WiiWare version. So far, the only major change I've noticed is that they combined the first two chapters of the cell phone version to make the first chapter of the WiiWare version. That, and they added some weird misty effect to the Adamant Cave.

Actually, it is multiplayer. Apparently, in settings during gameplay, there's a controller assignment option.
