Will Ash/Dawn Pokemons Evolve in Their Gym Battles?

We Hadn't have a Pokemon Evolve in a Gym battle Ever! (Count Ash only) or I am wrong? even so Havent seen Ash pokemon evolve in Gym Battle for ages.
