O.k. Ash has loss to Paul what how many times
5? And he still hasn't beaten him. I think that
the 6-on-6 battle they had was awesome (even though Paul won -_-),
I think the next time when the battle Ash & his Pokemon will kick Paul's butt all the way back to Veilstone City :yahoo:

So tell me, what do you guys think?

I'm sure Satoshi will beat him in the Pokémon League. It is bound to happen someday.

If they do meat up with eachother in the Pokemon League,
then I hope he beat him ;) I just hope that there isn't
any incident were all of a sudden his Pokemon disobey him &
fall asleep in the middle of battle like what happened when
Charizard fell asleep which cost him the match in the Indigo League against Ritchie, lol ^^ :banghead:

I already said this in another thread, but I hope Ash will beat Paul in the Sinnoh League, and by that time Monferno should have evolved into Infernape and be Ash's winning Pokemon. Paul's bad karma will finally catch up to him.

I was also disappointed when Charizard fell asleep during the match. :) I'm sure Ash will defeat Paul. I think Ash is stronger than Paul. Ash has 2 important traits that Paul obviously lacks which are love and care to pokemon. :) IMO, w/o those traits a pokemon trainer will always be weak no matter how physically strong his/her pokemon are. ;]

While I didn't see the battle, 6-on-6 battle, I've read summaries that were prety well detailed so I can say some about it. I personally think Ash very well could've won, he just tried to fight power with power head on, and his Pokemon aren't suited for it. If he'd gone with stradagy, then he'd have been able to overcome Paul's power. So I think the next time they'll battle, he'll be ready and beat Paul. Will that change Paul's opinion? The only way I see that happenening is if Ash sweeps the floor with him without losing one Pokemon, because since Ash hasn't really changed his training style, that proves what Paul once saw as 'weak' Pokemon are now stronger than his. The only major roadblock I see is Torterra, whose pretty tough, just for safety, Ash would probably want Charzard to fight it.

For Ash to not lose any Pokemon in battle is unrealistic. Besides, it's more dramatic if it comes down to their last standing Pokemon.

I know, but I was just saying it was probably the only way he'd be able to change Paul's mind is to sweep him...ether that or defeat his final Pokemon, probably Torterra, considering its his strongest Pokemon with Monferno (or possibly Infernape by then), considering that was a Pokemon Paul considered useless and threw away.

He's probably going to beat Shinji at the Pokemon League, and it's going to be the most satisfying, well-deserved victory ever.

I also believe Ash will beat Paul at the league, it might even be the league finale, who knows. Monferno will probably play a big role.

I'd also be willing to bet that it sets in motion a process where Paul changes as a trainer, becoming less ruthless and no longer obsessed with power.

He's pretty much the second Gary. Fat chance when they part ways, Paul's going to say something about going to a brand new region for a new challenge, and Ash is going to end up doing the same.

I've got to point something out, was it just me or was Paul overly brutal against Ash? I mean we've never seen an entire team of Pokemon be seriously injured in one battle before. It wasn't that his Pokemon where strong, Ash has faced stronger and that's never happened. Am I the only one who thinks Paul intended to seriously injure all of Ash's Pokemon? Wouldn't quite be out of character...

Didn't Ash already beat Paul at the PokeRinger tournament in Pursuing a Lofty Goal? Or does that not count?

But if you're only asking about the league, then my guess is that Ash will probably win. That said, I really hope they don't change Paul's character.

I doubt that counts as a victory, unless you wanna be cheap. Imo for Ash to really beat Paul he has to win a Pokemon battle, not a competition.

i bet paul never made it past the 1st round in the other pokemon leagues

when the league comes around ash and paul will have another 6 on 6 pokemon battle then ash will thrash all of pauls pokemon

i highly doubt paul would change he will probarly go crazy and release all of his pokemon for losing to ash

Knowing the anime, that'll be in the Sinnoh League.

Then he'll lose to Barry or someone completely new.

Of all the Rivals Ash has had, I think Paul is the one the writers are most intending the viewers to hate (love to hate, dislike, want to see get taken down, you get the point). Even Gary, who wasn't the nicest guy, was more like able than Paul. In my mind, the writers are probably doing that so when Ash finally does beat Paul, it'll be all the more satifying.

On a related note, is there any evidence that Paul competed in the Orange Islands? I don't think he mentioned it directly but he did say he didn't actuelly win any of the other leagues he'd been in, so we could assume if he did, he didn't win. Which that's something Ash has over Paul...other than actuelly hurting Branden's Pokemon the first time (though he was poccessed by an ancient spirit at the time...).
