According to this site's own wikia, Blast Burn hasn't been seen in the anime yet.

Anyone else think the next time Charizard comes back it will know the move? Or will another Pokemon learn it first?

I'm guessing Infernape. I don't plan on seeing Charizard playing a big enough role ever again.

The writers seem content enough to not bring up Charizard and seeing how Monferno's evolution into Infernape is coming up in the anime, Infernape is the most likely choice.

It seems like the writers favor overheat more then Blst Burn, it was learned by Charizrd and Blaziken.

Barry empoleon knows hydro canon, Paul's Torterra knows frenzy plant... so, Blast Burn's debut pretty much has Infernape written all over it.

Most likely scenario :

Ash faces Paul in the League, Infernape is on the battlefield, he's on his last leg, his blaze ability kicks in, he's got enough for one more attack... activates Blast Burn.

Would it be cool? Yes.
Will it happen? Probably not.

I wouldn't count it out, but it'll probably be Ashes Monferno (as an Infernape) if anything.

as much as i love charizard and want him to return, i think its a better idea that Infernape gets blast burn. Charizard already has overheat, so i think its a good idea for Infernape to get this attack, and then use it against Paul.

The last thing the writers need to feel like is that they're required to have Charizard know a new move every time it happens to return. So: hell no.

Blast Burn for Infernape, someone's Typhlosion, or a Blaziken, but not Charizard. They had their chance to give Charizard Blast Burn back in Kanto 2.0. They opted for Overheat. His loss.

Overheat is a godo enough attack for Charizard though. It already has enough powerful moves. And yes the last two times it has returned, it had a new move, so maybe thats enough moves for now. Id love to see Ash's Infernape and his Charizard togethar, maybe we'll see a rivalry between them or something. That'd be cool.

Charizard knows 5434 moves... it's safe to say it has enough. As far as Charizard and Infernape meeting... not my favourite pairing... I'd rather see...

1- Ash and Dawn's cyndaquil meet
2- Totodile dancing arounf Gible and Gible looknig at him with a blank stare that just says what the heck...
3- Bayleaf and Gliscor face off in a faceoff of Ash's super needy attention whores pokemon, bitchslapping each other for Ash's love and finally coming to the realization they'll never beat pikachu...
4- Actually, anybody meeting Gible would be hilarious

Um, yeah, it will totally be Infernape.

This, this, and this. Waiter, no need to bring out the desert rack, I like what I'm eating.

But yeah, seeing how the anime debuts the elemental hyper beams with the Sinnoh Starters, Ash's Monferno as an Infernape is a most likely candidate, unless they like to throw a wild card at us and have either Ash's or Dawn's Cyndaquil or Charizard learns it. But I rather Charizard doesn't get the spotlight again.

You know Bayleef mellowed down alot after she evolved. It is stil close to Ash without being very needy. I think u are being a bit harsh on it though

As for Charizard vs Infernape, we'll just have to agree to disagree.

As far as ash and dawns cyndaquil meeting, why in the world would that be exciting?

I'll give you the mellow bayleaf, compared to Chikorita it was a blessing. Charizard meeting Infernape would be cool if we didn't already see too much of Charizard compared to Ash's other pokemon and that would just remind me of the Orange Island episode where it has a rivalry with Tracey's elderly Scyther (worst anime rivalry, like if you're gonna pick a rival, pick one that's not gonna keel over and die anytime soon!)... Two cyndaquils could be interesting and it might show more of Ash's personnality

well the Charizard/Scyther rivalry was horrible, the reason i believe Charizard/Infernape would be a good rivalry is becuase they are both fully evolved fire types, anyway we probably wont see such a rivalry

As for as Ash's Cynda was concerned, i mean it was strong, but eh a but dull, i dont know how you'd describe his personality...

Chill, shy, who had trouble getting fired up but learn to overcome it, reliable and playful ? Those are adjective I'd use... That's what I'm saying anyway, I think making it meet Dawn's cyndaquil could help define it's personnality more...
