Will CONTESTS ever make a comeback?

Contests were an integral part of the anime during the Advanced and DP generation! And now we are just stuck with Ash gym leader adventure(BTW the battles got pretty boring and bad!)

The reason why I loved the Contest was cause of the animation which always was on a high level especially during the Sinnoh contests.

So will a Coordinator ever be mentioned in the Main anime series!?
Will one ever appear again?
Will a Contest ever be held again? Wallace cup? Or maybe a Hilda cup?
Will Top Coordinator become a main girl goal again!?
 
I think the writers are experimenting a lot with BW - it took a big break from a lot of conventions that had developed over AG and DP. Obviously some of those are for the worse and some for the better - so I think that when the planning starts for Gen 6's anime adaptation they will be looking at what went right and what went wrong. I think that will mean the return of Contests- they are about the best thing the Anime has come up with to balance out the pacing of the series with an appropriate second quest, though equally that would depend on finding a way to make them seem fresh again. A region without them may well be what was needed to make sure they didn't get too stale.

It would be nice if they made a BW cameo though, Cilan would be perfect as a coordinator.
 
I don't think they'll be back - they already got musicals. Also, I don't want them back :( I liked the flashy battles, but they just don't hold much tension like gym battles for me.
 
Sadly I'm not sure if we'll ever see Contests again... I think it was a ridiculous decision to remove them from the show... a girl star with a whole plot of her own is a big part of what made DP so awesome
They should've kept Ash and Dawn as the main stars and add two sidekicks to them (player characters, Iris or Chili) or if Dawn HAD to leave, then they should've used Hilda as the next heroine and Coordinator... to make the girls sidekicks again only hurt the show
While I think it's very unlikely to happen, I'd love to see some "Wallace Cup" in Unova, maybe something that will be done to advertise Contests in Unova similar to "Johto Festival" advertising Johto in Sinnoh... a big Contest with May, Dawn and all of their rivals... it could be so awesome... but probably won't happen
I hope that next gen they'll return to having a girl star and Contests again...
 
The games got rid of them, so for that simple reason they won't be in the anime again. They'll probably appear again in R/S remakes, but I don't know if they'll appear again in a regular new gen. I doubt BW2 will bring them back either.
 
Well , I would be happy if Ash become coordinator for one filler saga !
I wanna see his Totodile & Infernape in contest .
 
I don't think so, sadly. Maybe in a few episodes to pimp the Gen 3 remakes, but that's a ways off.

I miss them. I didn't much for them, but they were a good way to kill time between events, kept the filler down and put the spotlight on people who WEREN'T Dumash.

I at least wish they'd do something the musicals. They've barely done anything with them. I myself would like a multi-episode performance of the ever popular The Ghost-Type of the Opera (even to this day, crowds still burst into thunderous applause when the Chandelure comes crashing down at the end of Act 1)
 
I have a strange feeling that we will have a kind of Wallace cup maybe a few eps before the league or during the "possible" post league arc in Easten Unova or so!

I really wanna see Cilan as a coordinator and a Pansage vs Dawn's Piplup face of! And this gives a chance for Hilda and BW2 SailorMoon protagonist to appear!

But I don't believe it comes back for a starring role!
 
I really hope not. I wouldn't mind an episode where they meet a former coordinator COTD traveling in Isshu, and Satoshi explaining contests to Iris and Dento (they seem like something Dento would enjoy), but as long as they're not a reoccurring thing again.

Drew , Kenny , Harley , Timi & all other male coordinator reappear !
All unova rival compete here like the Don Hosted tournament but all of them get knock out in 1st round because they didn't knew how Pokemon Contest work ! (Including Iris)
Ash face Drew & Kenny and he get even for his PREVIOUS DEFECT in their hand.
Then he face Robert in final & defect him .
How about that !!!!

No, they're done. All the focus goes to Pokémon League's or something diffrent in the future for one of either Ash's future sidekicks.
 
I really want to see the contests heavly featured in the anime again. Maybe not this gen but... I can dream, right?
 
If RSemakes are confirmed, we'll probably get a 2-parter where May, Dawn and the interesting (see: May's) rivals show up for one big contest that's in Unova for some reason. There'll be lots of ice-type moves used... probably by Dawn's Spheal, because she'll have a Spheal and some other Hoenn Pokemon now. Iris will get creeped out, the result will be one that favours neither May nor Dawn, everyone will go their seperate ways again.

Otherwise, no... unless contests are in B2W2... but probably not.
 
I really wish they were! I liked them way better than gym battles. Gym battles are boring to me most of the time. I would love to see Cilan as coordinator or Ash as a coordinator in a Unova filler arc. That'd be awesome and May and Dawn could come back as Ash and Cilan's rivals for an arc! That'd be so awesome but it'd never happen. :( Im hoping that RS remakes will be made and that Unova will hold some type of big contest for some reason I dont feel like thinking of right now and that Ash, Cilan, May, Dawn, Drew, Harley, Zoey, Burgandy, Nando, Robert, and Solidad will compete! THAT WOULD BE THE BEST!

Yeah, that's really the only way Contests could come back. It wouldn't make too much sense for Contests to come back in the anime if they weren't part of the new games.

I think it is possible that they could have Contests make a comeback in the games and in the anime as a result. If they're in the sixth generation games, then I imagine that they would bring them back as a sidequest for the female character to do again. Personally, I would love Contests to return. While I wasn't a huge fan of the DP Contests, mainly due to Dawn's boring rivals, it was nice to have something else to focus on besides Ash's Gym battles. One of the things that watching BW has made me realized is how I was so used to seeing Contests after two full series that focused on them just as much as Ash's Gym battles and going back to just Ash's Gym battles has been kind of weird. There's probably a better chance that they would make another sidequest to appeal to girls, although I hope that they won't be like the Musicals were, but I certainly wouldn't mind seeing Contests return in the next series.
 
No they won't. As I said they'll be in the R/S remakes but I doubt we'll see it over in the anime.

Likewise I have no desire to sit through a third coordinator girl, (I have no idea why people are talking about May and Dawn in this thread, they're long gone, and by the 6th gen they'll be ancient history), so no thanks.
 
Unless contests make a comeback in the games, then no, I don't see them returning in the anime. I... can't really imagine the anime reintroducing contests again on its own.
