Will Crystal be ported to the DS?

This has been discussed to death, but: nope. There have been no announcements for a Crystal remake, plus, HGSS incorporate a lot of Crystal's features. As well, I think it would be kind of redundant.

I guess I'll post that arguments invalid points here. Frankly Yellow nor blue had any point plots changed or new features. While HGSS does feature a whole lot of crystal it takes away an equal amount of crystal. Its not exactly impossible and its not exactly possible.

Im not quite sure how DSware works.. But they could release old GB games and give you Yellow and Crystal as download games.

Crystal Remake is not what Pokemon Mind(?)Crystal is going to be. If it's gonna be ever released, it'll be a third version to HGSS, packed with brand new features, just bearing Crystal's title, its center Legendary and some of its elements (GS Ball, maybe?).

If anything, that would be Water(?)Blue (Blue is actual third version of Generation I). FRLG were released BEFORE Emerald. Now, with HGSS being out AFTER Platinum, we still have enough time for a main handheld game to be released. If it's gonna happen, a HGSS third version is pretty much given.

Ported? If you meant ported, it would be ported to the Vitural Console, not the DS.

This is the billionth time I've said this, but I don't think Crystal will be "remade" since HGSS is a Crystal remake (because that implies that it would be adding Crystal features when a third version would not since they are already present in HGSS and a third version would add new things). I do think we will see a third version to HGSS called "___Crystal", but that's for my thread.

I don't see this as a valid point anymore. First, Yellow was based off of the anime and if a third version were to be made of FRLG, it would be "WaterBlue". Second, said name was trademarked, so GameFreak could of been thinking about. Third, there was no time to release "WaterBlue"; Emerald was released 5 months before the DS and it would be useless to release another GBA title when a newer console was afoot. HGSS on the other hand is in a different situation, if the rumor is true, the DS successor won't come out until 2011 and most likely we won't see Gen V until 2012. Three years without a main series wouldn't be a good idea. Not to mention HGSS are much more popular than FRLG.

EDIT: If you were talking about a port to the vitural console, I think it's a pretty cool idea.

It'd be neat if it's released on the same day of the 10th anniversary, but I doubt it since it would of been announced by now if that were the case.

As it's been said before, almost every benefit of Crystal is making it into HeartGold and SoulSilver, so porting it is fairly unnecessary. These are supposed to be the ultimate generation II games. Releasing a be all and end all generation II game would kind of defeat the purpose.

And if that happens, it would most likely have Kris as the main character. There is no reason to care about a Crystal remake otherwise.

Probably not, after all, other than Kris, HGSS includes crystal, just like frlg included portions of yellow (emotion system somewhat). But they could, just for fanservice, you never know.

No. If they had made a third GenI remake, it would have been based on Yellow version. Keep in mind that while Blue was technically the "Third Version" for GenI in Japan, it was not a "Third Version" in the same sense as Crystal, Emerald, or Platinum. The only thing that Blue did was update the sound and graphics from Red and Green, fix some glitches, and a bunch of other really minor things. There wasn't any expansion of the main plot, and no new features.

That means absolutely nothing. Nintendo and/or GameFreak pretty much went out and trademarked dozens and dozens of Pokemon version names a while back. That in no way means that they plan or planned to ever release any games with those names.
