I think that it will learn how during the battle with Volkner. Some fans say that it should have learned how to control it as Monferno when it evolved into Infernape.

It was pointed out by Paul that Monferno transformed the energy from Blaze into evolution power and that helped it evolve into Infernape. Well, I was watching the Japanese version with English subtitles so I don’t know if the translation was correct.

Though it is plausible because Monferno at the last second was in an emotional scene with Ash, and then it flew off to save the trapped Pokemon. Then it evolved to its final form.

It will use Blaze against Volkner and by the previews it looks like it is going to be out of control. However, I think that it will learn a new move at the gym. I also think that this will help it finally control its massive power.

If he does use Blaze against Paul, I think that it will be a last ditch tactic against him to win the match. You know to show Paul the power that he was trying to dig out in the first place, and then this power will be what finally defeats him. So, in my own thoughts Blaze will finally be mastered at the gym, but will only be activated again to beat Paul.

Anyone have other thoughts on this?

wasn't it implied that he controlled blaze as soon as he evolved? because if i remember right the energy from monferno's blaze was used as fuel for the evolution.

Yes, but the snapshot of Infernape surrounded by fire, looking agree and having red eyes says otherwise...

Yes, it should really learn to master its Blaze right there. What I really don't understand is why that wasn't part of the subplot with Flint who has an Infernape and could actually have given him pointers as to how to master blaze instead of having Buizel and Pikachu fight Flint...

Yeah that’s what I thought as well. If it turned Blaze into evolution energy, then it implies that Monferno knows how to control Blaze. Then when I go back and think; Monferno was the one that controlled Blaze not Infernape. However, I think that we have to wait for the episode to come out in order to see if Infernape actually knows how to control it.

To me looking at the previews implies that Infernape is totally out of control, but I guess we just have to find out for ourselves.

I thought it learned to control Blaze in the big battle with Paul. But maybe because it evolved it lacks the experience and doesn't know how to use the power with the body of an Infernape which causes it to go out of control. I see it learning to control at the gym or anytime before the league battle with Paul.

I hope it learns how to control Blaze in the battle with Denji because quite frankly I'm starting to get a bit bored of the plot in general.

Looks like Infernape is still having a tough time controlling its ability (from what Gible said). Looks like it'll finally learn how to do that in the League.

I the gym battle. It looks at Ash as if it can control himself.
