Will Iris or Cilan ever get to star in a movie?

We know that Iris/Cilan have a very small role in the first BW movie, but do you think that will change in the following ones?

As we know, neither Misty nor Brock ever got any major starring role in any of the movies. Since Iris and Cilan are basically filling the same exact roles Misty/Brock did, do you think they will get a movie to star in or be treated in a similar manner?

I have added a poll. You posted too soon. As for new roles, yes, but not totally different.

I think Cilan's popularity through his voice actor may get him a big role in a movie, or at least sharing one with Ash.

I think it's certainly possible that they'll get their own movie or have some important role right along with Ash. I could see at least the latter happening at some point. It feels a bit too early to write it off completely.

Yeah I think Cilan will bond with Meloetta in a movie and Iris with Kyurem in another movie...

I could see it going either way. I mean, Max got a movie, and he was in an even less prominent role than these two in his respective saga.

That said, Iris seems more likely to star in one than Dent in my opinion. For some reason, I can just see her getting one, though I would prefer a Dent movie myself.

^And Max was the only who one who remained the star. Ash stole the spotlight in movie 9 where May starred.

I don't think so myself, this series is kind of like Kanto. Like you said, both Misty and Brock didn't get a movie. If any one though, I see Dento at least sharing a movie with Ash due to him being so popular but.

Anyway, I hope so, even if it's a bit too early to really tell. I would love seeing Iris bond with Keldeo, and Cilan and Meloetta. Just as long as Ash doesn't yank away the spotlight near the end like in the Manaphy movie. ._.

As long as Ash is the face of the show, they will not have a staring role but as lending hand, yes!!

With Kyurem and the whole Reshiram and Zekrom were once one dragon myth waiting in the wings I say Iris has a good chance. I'm not so sure about Cilan though but it would be a breath of fresh air for someone else to have a good day in the limelight instead of it being the Ash and Pikachu show.

I really really really want to say yes... but the cut-and-paste plots the movies seem to get nowadays probably won't allow it.
That said I'd like anyone but Ash to get a chance to star in at least one movie this time round heck even a COTM would be better :\

Cilan is a movie sommelier; he's too busy watching movies to be in them. xD

I honestly can't see Cilan receiving a big role in a movie, mainly because his role in the trio is pretty much comic relief most of the time. I can see Iris having a big role if there was to be a movie about Kyurem though.

hopefully but probably not. they might share a movie because on the poster they dabuted on iris is on zekroms side and cilan is on reseirams side (wich makes sense to me becuz cilan looks towards the truth while iris relies on dreams) or like the others said cilan befriends milota and iris has something to do with Zoroark (because her hair looks like Zoroarks mane and ears!) and get ther own movie (or at least a one hour speceal!)

The last Pokemon movie I saw was...5 (Latios & Latias one, iirc). At that point I'd just grown bored of the films. Too much Satoshi for my liking. I hated the fact that his traveling companions always pretty much took backseat to him, and by the sounds of it (through the posts here), the formula remained for the films following it, meaning Haruka, Masato, Hikari, etc., all probably had to take a backseat to Satoshi.

Hopefully, I would love for the focus to be on Iris or Dento, but I highly doubt it'll happen since no matter how you look at it, Satoshi is the star.

They did try to switch things up in the AG movies. Movie 6 was mostly about Max, Movie 8 about Lucario, and Movie 9 about May...even if Ash helped save the day at the end.
I also did think the Darkrai movie hadw Ash and Dawn share spotlight, although Dawn's role in the following DP movies was very little.

I would hope the first BW movie only focused on Ash because it was a new gen, and in the following movies we can have Iris or Cilan get a larger role. Iris should definitely get a bigger role when the movie focuses on the dragons.
