Will Jessie give up being a coordinator if Contests are eventually phased out?

Let's assume the Gen V girl is not a coordinator but does a new quest from the new games, (please no arguments about Contests and/or Dawn staying, that's not what this thread is about), what do you think Jessie will do?

If Jessie was still failing at contests like before, I would assume she'd just give up being a coordinator and try whatever the new quest is. But now that Jessie is so successful at Contests that she's actually gotten into the Grand Festival, would she suddenly give up being a coordinator simply because a main girl isn't doing them?

This is what I really wonder about next generation. It would now be against Jessie's character to give up being a coordinator entirely, yet the writers wouldn't keep contests in the show if a main girl wasn't doing them.

Anyone wonder about this, and what Jessie would do about her coordinator career? Jessie winning ribbons might be more important to her character's future than we think.

The region just might not have contests at all.

So it's not as if she would give them up, just not be able to participate as there isn't a chance to.

To be honest, this question can only be answered from a assuming a number of things.

But if Contests were cut out from the anime, they could very easily sweep Jessie's involvement with them under the rug. They've done it with Team Rocket's past numerous times before.

If contests don't make a comeback, Jessie might do whatever the side-quest is (maybe the Pokeathlon?).

If contests in the new reigon stop it'll probably be because contests haven't arrived there yet idk

The writers don't care about consistency, it would be a 'GS Ball' scenario. They'll know by now what they're planning to do anyway, so they might wrap it up for her at the GF if that's the case. She'd probably lose and say 'Maybe i'm not cut out for contests' and James would snigger and say something like 'At least you're good at being bad' then she would hit him, and end scene. and that would be that. Never to be mentioned again.

Wow I could write for them ^.^

Wtf? We clearly aren't watching the same show. Nah, Kojiro would cheer her up and encourage her to continue in contests. She got to the GF, why give up now? There has to be a really heavy reason for Musashi to stop contests, and I can't see it happening really... The writers would have to be creative with this one.

Maybe you're right, I'm an old fan, I forgot that there was no humor in the show anymore.

I think we are watching a different show. They couldn't if they tried.

I assume if contests are done with the show than yah Jessie will be done.
I think the guy above me is right, shey'll probaly drop the entire thing once she looses the GF.
That will most likely be her finale time for the thing.
Than yah, James will remind her what being a bad guy is all about and they should just chase after that Pikachu.
Jessie agrees and they continue on after Ash and Pikachu to the next series.
There could be another quest for Jessie to do.
Or maybe next series James will be the one to do things.

Maybe at the end of the DP saga, Jessie will win some big contest and decide to quit competing while she is on top.

But to me, that doesn't make sense at all. I feel like it would be unlike her just to give up on it now, because she is so successful at it.

I know the writer's aren't usually consistent but I feel DP is a little different- I think they've been the most consistent this generation than with all the others (I haven't seen much of AG so I could be wrong)

I agree because Kojiro has been really supportive of her career.

Or maybe next series James will be the one to do things.

Perhaps?..... But I doubt it.

Unless they do double contests, and Musashi and Kojiro could both participate, but I think that's wishful thinking....

I agree with this, except that she might not quit contests until the scenario where she finds out there aren't any contests in the new region.

In the anime contests seem to be in every region, so even if a main girl isn't doing them, Jessie would still have the option to.

The thing is the writers won't bother showing her enter contests anymore if a main girl isn't also doing them. They really wrote themselves into a corner here by putting contests into every single region and making Jessie a serious coordinator.

Every region so far... =)

The writers can easily just not have contests in a region. The show could made somewhat of a big deal about how Jessie can't compete in contests anymore, and then she could move on, I think,

Has it been stated that there won't be contests in the Gen V games?

If there has, then I reckon they'll just judiciously not mention it and hope the young viewers don't notice/care.

If there hasn't been any such info, then I can't honestly see contests not continuing into the new games and thus the anime. After all it isn't as if people complained about contests in the games; is it?

It'd be odd to see Jessie make it successfully and then just give up. I wonder what will happen if she's forced to stop?

We don't have any reason to believe Contests will all of a sudden disappear from the show
Contests became just as much as the show's plot as the Gyms are
Even if Dawn won't stay like I want, then they'll just make next girl a Coordinator too...
Anyway... if we have to speculate what would happen in the weird case Contests will disappear... I guess they'll either throw a few Contests for Jessie similar to the few seconds Contest she had during Ash's Hearthome Gym Battle
Or make her disappointed about not being able to do them but then James and Meowth cheer her up and remind her that their main goal is the get Pika
Or just ignore it
There's really nothing else they can do other than one of these options

Well, obviously if there are no contests there are no coordinators. So, yes.
