Will Movie 12 be last D/P movie?

Thinking now we have seen every legendary except heatran, will the last movie be the last of this generation or will we have a heatran one, or will it be in anime only? Movie 10 introduced us to Darkrai and had Diagla/Palkia in it, Movie 11 had Shaymin, Regigigas and Girantia and Movie 12 had Arceus. Rotom (not exactly a legendary, but unique anyway) and phione have been in Anime and all is left is Heatran and I don't think its good enough to have a whole movie based on it, unless there is going to be something big about Stark Mountain or something.

So whats your opinion?

Wasn't it more or less said that Movie 12 would wrap up the Dialga/Palkia story?

My guess is, yes, then we'll get a Sinnoh Battle Frontier movie (which, since Stark Mountain is technically in the area of the Battle Frontier, may involve that).

I really hope they don't go and wrap up the Galactic plot with a lame two or three parter like Magma and Aqua got...

Sinnoh will be over this year, so yes, it'll be the last "DP" movie.

Movie 13 will be in the filler arc between Sinnoh and the 5th gen. I am hoping with all the GS advertising that Ho-oh is featured in Movie 13.

Ho-oh deserves a movie and movie 13 would be perfect for it.

Heatran will be in Movie 12.

I wouldn't mind Ho-oh as the star of Movie 13, especially if it's in Johto. I've given up on Movie 12 featuring the debut of the first Gen V Pokémon and now hoping it to be Movie 13.

Actually IF they were to come out with a thirteenth movie it'd have to have a fifth generation pokemon unfortunetly

Maybe not not necessarily. As Nekusagi said, it could be the "Frontier movie" showing around the battle island and the various areas around it and showcasing Stark Mountain. Then we'd have battle tower arc, porobably the battle factory of platinum and maybe that will showcase a Gen V pokemon. Hoenn Battle Frontier showcased Bonsly and Mime Jr so, might be happening in those episodes.

No one knows yet, what is going to happen at the end of D/P, so the if stuff is valid. Buf if the show continues past Sinnoh, which it most likley will, there will be a 13th movie.

Yeah, nobody knows. Except me, apparently.

Oh, and that director who gave that interview where he confirmed a fifth generation and a continuation of Satoshi's storyline. Why is it that the more cold hard facts this fandom gets, the more they try to ignore them for the sake of wild speculation?

That was vague confirmation. He just said there would be more generations. And I still don't believe Ash will forever be around, but I said enough of that in the other thread.

Because if they do they'll have nothing to complain about.

To answer your question, it's because the director (Who isn't even the director anymore, he's now just a storyboard artist since DP started.) also said some things that conflict with other things he said. For example, that "Confirmation" on a fifth generation (as well as Ash "Being on the show for many game generations to come") was contradicted by his never having heard of Platinum (Which, seeing how Platinum's development has been well known by quite a few people, and Corocoro even doing articles relating to it's development, as well as two formes from Platinum appearing in the Shaymin movie, which was released by the time the interview took place, and the info long before the interview happened, would be suspect.). I mean, if he doesn't even know about Platinum's development, how should he know about a fifth generation's development (BTW, before you argue otherwise, he did legitimately not know about Platinum's release. WPM even stated this countless times.).

They'll probably release another that stars a 5th gen Pokémon. The last movie of an era often stars a Pokémon from the next generation:

Pokémon the Movie 2000: Lugia
Pokémon Heroes: Latias and Latios
Pokémon: Lucario and the Mystery of Mew: Lucario and Pokémon Ranger and the Temple of the sea.

Yeah, I find it funny that even a common 5th gen Pokemon has yet to be shown.

Man, it really goes to show you how early Munchlax was shown into the 3rd gen. Munchlax didn't even feel like a new Pokemon anymore when DP came out.

They usually wait until all Pokémon of a current generation is introduced before introducing ones from a newer one.

Munchlax was introduced in the same movie as Deoxys, which was, surprise, surprise, the last Pokémon of the 3rd generation.

This newest one will be centering around Arceus, so if a 5th gen Pokémon doesn't show up as a very minor character, then chances are it'll show up for the next movie.

12 should be the last D/P movie, but they very likely could make a new movie to the tune of Lucario and the Mystery of Mew or Pokémon Ranger and the Temple of Suck, featuring no Pokémon from the current generation.

But both of those movies had a technically "new" Pokémon as its star.

Options:
1. The 13th movie will have a fifth generation Pokémon as its star
2. The 13th movie will break precedent and feature only Pokémon from previous generations
3. The 13th movie will not exist

I am counting Pikachu shorts:
The second generation debuted in the first Kanto movie (minor roles)
The second generation got a major role in the second Kanto movie.
The third generation debuted in the second Johto movie (minor roles).
The third generation got major roles in the third Johto movie.
The fourth generation debuted in the second Hoenn movie (minor role).
The fourth generation got major roles in the third AND fourth Hoenn movies.

Meanwhile, we are now at the third Sinnoh movie with no fifth generation in sight. The precedent has already been broken.

Is the 5th gen really that far off or are they holding out on purpose?

If that's the case, the DP group may get 5 movies instead of 4.

I'll agree with you on Temple of the Sea (Because, let's face it, the only REAL Gen III Legendary that was actually featured in the film was Kyogre, which aside from already debuting earlier in the anime, was relegated to a five minute appearance in the climax.), but didn't Lucario and the Mystery of Mew technically feature legendary pokemon from the 3rd Generation (you know, the Regis, who not only were prime focuses of the movie, but also hadn't even debuted in the anime up to that point.).

Seeing how the way they worded the description, it may very well be the last DP series movie. I mean, they could have easily called it the last of the Sinnoh trilogy just to cut down on confusion, but they didn't.
