Dunno, I was wondering what you guys think.

Would he accidentally touch a thunderstone while looking for a apple?

Dunno. They will probably keep him as a pikachu. Just wondering what you guys think.

That's not even a question... it's really ridiculous to even THINK about Pikachu EVER evolving... seriously
We're talking about PIKACHU... more than 13 years, why would it change now? Pika is the mascot of Pokémon and the Poké associated with Ash
For plot-reasons and real life-reasons, it'll never evolve, not even if Ash's story ever ends

I very much doubt it will evolve into a Raichu in the anime. The only possible way it could evolve is if they have a new Pikachu evo, which is probably unlikely, that is very similar to Pikachu. This way they could keep the Pika feel to it but still advertise new pokemon.

Pikachu does not wish to evolve. S/he It wants to show how good it can be without evolving.

Plus, guys, explain to me what's so amazing about this? What makes fully evolved Pokemon so mesmerizing?

NO! He must never evolve! He doesn't need to evolve his form, but needs to evolve his battle skills. He must remain the most powerful weenie ever existed.

Unless BW give us another alternate evolution other than Raichu, no. No evolution.

No. He never has and never will. Pikachu's the mascot and Ash's main Pokemon. He needs to stay as a Pikachu.

Why do topics like this keep popping up? Ash's Pikachu will NEVER evolve. First and foremost, it's the series' mascot. No TV series (or anything in the real world, for that matter) would ever do something that drastic. If they did, the series would suffer tremendously. Just because a small minority of fans want it to happen doesn't mean it will.

Also, Pikachu has stated in two episodes (Electric Shock Showdown and Pika & Goliath) that it does not want to evolve.

I do not understand why threads like this are constantly being created?

There have been numerous instances in the past where Ash's Pikachu refused to evolve into a Raichu. He turned down the opportunity to become a Raichu twice. Pikachu wanted to prove that it is able to fight on a higher level without evolving.

The logic behind Pikachu staying the same for so long is this - he is the mascot character of the anime as well as the franchise. Naturally, Pikachu is the first thing to come in mind when associating to the franchise. The Pikachu species is notorious for being small and cute; these are major selling points especially to younger children. By any chance that Pikachu does end up evolving, he will lose everything about his physical appearance that have drawn in children of all ages to the franchise.

Pikachu will not evolve into a Raichu, Meowth will not evolve into a Persian.

Of course! It's also entirely possible it will grow wings and be a fire type.

But no, I don't think it will.

Really? I thought he'd get a shell and learn Hydro Pump. Oh well.

And, yeah, of course not. Pikachu = mascot status, meaning he'll never go anywhere.

If anyone thinks that, in making so many changes for Best Wishes they would possibly evolve Pikachu, I just want to say... the writers have their limits when it comes to making changes.

I very much doubt it will evolve into a Raichu in the anime. The only possible way it could evolve is if they have a new Pikachu evo, which is probably unlikely, that is very similar to Pikachu. This way they could keep the Pika feel to it but still advertise new pokemon.

Even if there was a new Pikachu evo, they'd just introduce the new Pikachu evo separately without evolving Ash's Pikachu. There are many ways to advertise Pokemon.

Regarding Raichu, what I wouldn't mind seeing (but what I doubt would happen because if they wanted to do it they probably would've done it by now) is that in an episode where someone is looking for something that can "de-evolve" Pokemon, and during the episode, Pikachu accidentally comes in contact with a Thunderstone so that it evolves into Raichu. But by the end of the episode, the de-evolution... substance... would be found and Raichu would be back to a Pikachu.

To me, something like that wouldn't be more of a problem than, say, the "JJ&M split up" episodes. Because you know that things will be back to normal in the end.

Nope i don't think so. But I was hoping in DP that there would be a "what if" episode about it, like Ash was having a dream or something.

^ Well at least there was that D&P episode where Ash briefly had a Raichu in one of the episodes of the summer school arc.
